Is the Fans Forum Supporters Group going to be continued this season?
If not, thanks to Jon, Parrott and Hugo for their efforts with bookeeping and doing the online draws.

Hey guys, is this still happening?
I think it's a great thing that brings the folks on here and the AF together and raises money for the club.
Happy to help organise if you need someone.

Evenin all.
Ill be honest as always - the FFS Club has clearly lost its way in recent seasons. We had a very close knit group over the ten years since inception who were the main stays and a great loyal following that supported the group through thick and thin, we achieved some amazing things , but the real achievement was bringing Gasheads together, whether on here or in person.
Sadly that group has been fractured, some have moved on, the forum has certainly changed as has the football club in general, others like myself just don’t post on here much anymore for one reason or another, and extremely sadly we all lost the glue that held us together, our great friend GregsGas, such was his effect on others the FFS Club has never been the same since and the truth is it will never be what it once was without him. I think about him all the time and miss him dearly.
That said, if enough people want it to continue I will step up and make sure it continues, arrange a hospitality game etc. Hopefully Parrot is up for the banking side etc also, but that is for him to decide and to add his own comments. It will need others to mould it together though, even if that is just posting, discussing it in any threads etc. To be honest I don’t think the club need our fundraising since Wael has arrived, he seems to be well in control of the clubs finances and it is a tribute to him that fundraisers are not needed like they once were. But I also know he appreciates any efforts made to raise a few pounds, and by the sponsorship of games, shirts etc every little helps.
The great thing is that whatever else is going on, or the different paths our lives take us we always remain Gasheads through and through, it’s what binds us together and when we do get together however infrequently it’s like we’ve never been apart. Bristol Rovers has always been a massive part of my life and that will never change.
I hope this serves as an opening line for others to add their thoughts. Thanks for reading and apologies for being distant these last few years.
UTG!

Thank you Jon, as always, you have a great way with words. As you know, like you, I very much miss Gregs. This place and the FFSC just isn't what it was for me either anymore. I too have drifted from the club, probably further than most. I feel privileged to have got to know some really special people along the way who even when there are differences I still like, respect and consider them a friend. Even as I drift further away, it's hard not to lament what was a really special contribution every member of the FFSC has made over the years and I'm glad to have played a small part in its success. There have been a few stalwarts and plenty of new passengers on our journey and I would like to thank them all. I've always tried to be a cheerleader for the FFSC as much as I could over the years, but I feel that this would be disingenuous and hollow should I try now. My heart just isn't in it anymore. I really hope I reconnect with Bristol Rovers again one day in the future. I still read this forum from time to time, more out of habit than anything else. I also still look for the results on a Saturday evening so there's still hope for me. If you do carry on, I wish you all the very best of luck, and yeah, I'll probably still end up joining! Take care and thanks again to everyone who have played their part in the FFSC.

Cllr Edwards should read this if she really wants to know what the FC means to people. It galvanises and connects like nothing else can. People like her and the others that try to slow it down will only ever achieve a slowing of its progression. They will never kill it.

Thanks for posting your comments Jon the Stripe - I totally get where you are coming from regarding the FFSC. As you say, the club is in a different place now, and many other things have changed. I'm happy for it to remain as a great memory of good times on the forum, and thank all those involved along the way, who made it happen.

Thank you Hugo and Jon for everything you've contributed in the past.
I share many of the sentiments you've expressed and feel proud to to have been a part of something quite special. We've had some wonderful times together but I also feel that the FFSC has run it's course and it's probably time to consign it to history.
Losing Paul was a painful blow and has left a gap which is most likely impossible to fill.
Of course I will probably contribute to the FFSC should it continue but I too have lost my passion for the forum as it's not the place it once was. Thankfully my love for the Gas remains undiminished.
Hopefully Hugo I suspect your passion will be re-kindled one day and the club will be a better place if and when it does.

Sorry to hear about the FFSC,think I've been in it from the start. If you do at some point arrange a match day meet up in memory of Paul, give us all a shout.

I echo sentiments above, especially about long lost list of Gas...
It's with a heavy heart I find myself somewhere in your ball parks, for maybe different reasons. Falling back from the club I was devoted to.
I do regret how things have developed, but if it's time to go, go gracefully and remember the great days.
I think the fans and the forum are worse without it, because a splinter group of fans is good for helping keep an equilibrium.
Much respect guys and gals...

I've one final idea, if we have any funds and shirts left over from previous seasons I'd like to suggest we raffle the shirts and donate all our final funds to Nick Anderton.

Hello again everyone.
I've spoken to Parrot and we have some funds and a few shirts left over.
More details on the shirts to follow.
Parrot informs me we have had a few people who have already paid up for this season.
I would like to make a plea for one final FFSC push for your tenner donations for this season.
I propose we open up for donations until the end of September this year (1 month) as our final deadline.
All monies received will be added to the pot along with any proceeds the shirts may raise and we sign off by making our final FFSC donation to Nick Anderton.
I'm super excited about making one last hurrah really count and I hope others are.
As always, we will be lead by majority rule or utter apathy, whichever wins over.
Would really appreciate your thoughts, feedback and support for this, especially all previous FFSC supporters.
HTE.

The clubs in a much better place than it was when the FFSC started. Everyone knows my current views despite this but I would still support the FFSC if it was to continue running.

A great idea to end the FFS, however anyone who has paid in advance for this season should be offered the choice to support the Nick Anderton fundraiser or a full refund. To be fair to all we should allow this thread to run for a few weeks to gauge members opinions as the shirts should really have been given away to members in a raffle. 👍🏼

I am led to understand discussing with Hugo we have £400 odd and a good few shirts that haven’t been given away.
I take full responsibility for these shirts not being given away at the appropriate time, I believe GregsGas sad passing postponed a draw and we never got round to making it, also the money left in the account should have gone towards the sponsorship of players last season which we should have made happen. The saving grace is it will now be given to a superb young man with a recovery on his hands as he comes to terms with his dream career being over.
All good things come to an end, this was one hell of a ride and hopefully will end with one last great act.

It's been brought to my attention that one or two of the shirts we still have may be from last season, where for obvious reasons we did not run the prize draw. For regular members, you will all know what a shambles me and Paul made of that every year. In the spirit of openess and honesty I feel its important to ask last seasons members if they are happy if we add any shirts that should have been prizes last season to the pot or if you'd prefer them to be shared among members as usual? For my part, I'm obviously up for just chucking everything in for one last push but it would be very wrong of us to change the goalposts of the FFSC right at the end. I would like to once again thank everyone who has made the FFSC what it was and acknowledge and apologise that those of us at the sharp end have all run out of steam a bit the last 18 months or so.
