How can that not be a red, as Collins would have surely had a clear run at goal if he had been taken out? Probably because it was too far away from the goal. They had a couple of send off's in the A league, here in Australia, last season. I was discussed whether they should have been yellow due to distance from goal

Mainly Connolly but a few others. Cox has looked decent so far but the defence keeps putting him under pressure in tight situations, same as in the Chesterfield game and it’s a miracle that we didn’t concede from it then. I assume that's the way they've been told to play? You have to sense that Belshaw's career at Rovers is now over, if this is how we're going to play this season. Pompey only look average so far and have rarely looked like scoring, let's hope it remains that way in the second half, which will probably last at least an hour! And likely end up as a 7-a-side game……🫣

The 2 midfielders are sitting more with the centre halves. But we also need a plan b when teams press.

He does have a reputation for exactly that, I'm afraid.

Yeah I was surprised when they were discussing it.

Under too much pressure for my liking. Can’t see us holding on for long if it’s like this. Need to try and get hold of the ball and put a few passes together.

I don’t think it’s a rule, just one of the factors the referee is told to consider when deciding whether a foul has denied a clear and obvious goal scoring opportunity

This is what it’s like when we play top teams at home. They will always put teams under pressure. We are competing and I’m happy with that. What I love here is the organisation of team when defending. Every player knows where they should be as the Portsmouth play develops. Professional stuff here. We always look like we could score anytime. ⚽️

Games ebb and flow and we were always be under pressure for a period of time. It's about managing, riding it out and then we go again
