Cox 7.5 - competent performance
Hoole 6.5 - ok defensively but could not get forward much
Wilson 7.5 - a strong performance
Connolly 7 - improved on last season
Gordon 6.5 - coped reasonably well against Pompey wing threat
Thomas 7.5 - worked hard and won challenges. Good goal and his speed was an asset. Poor final ball sometimes.
Finley 6.5 - inspirational as captain. Occasionally let down by lack of quality
Ward 7 - solid performance although our central midfield were sometimes outnumbered
Collins 6.5 - ok performance but can do a lot better
Brown 6.5 - looks a great prospect and had a good impact but too often the final ball was poor.
Marquis 7 - vital to the team, works hard and leads the line well. Tired in the second half
Subs:
Taylor 5.5 - good for him to get some minutes. Seemed to struggle playing on the left side (we are very imbalanced with virtually all centre backs being right sided players) and not as dominant in the air as usual.
Grant 5.5 - good to have him back but did not add much
Evans 5.5 - did not add much to the team
Sinclair 5.5 - had one decent chance but no real impact

Cox 8 nice debut important saves, is this the Cox Pippin's diet to end the reign of Belly?
Gordon 6 some exposure there.
Connolly 7 ok start but needed the stalwart.
Wilson 8 nice debut. best of defence, commanding and decisive.
Hoole 6 the joke of a back header in the first few minutes set the tone, not best game.
Thomas 8.5 eye catching and tricky. Nice finish.
Finley 7.5 good captaincy and organiser.
Ward 8.5 m o m involved almost everywhere, intrinsic with our midfield dominance first half.
Collins 6.5 played out of position for me, missed one chance and tane shot second half as contributions.
Brown 7 delicious assist for the opener, but failed in second half to close down enough.
Marquis 6 weak link and almost got put through in first half, but more on the floor than not.
Subs:
Taylor 6 nice to see the lad but a bit rusty.
Grant 6.5 better replacement and great to see him back.
Evans 7.5 playing up front mid and made 2 brilliant interception tackles.
Sinclair 6 not really in the game.
Ref 7.5 decent, let the game flow (especially for our goal as it was a foul) and generally got most things right especially not succumbing to the penalty claim.
Pompey 7.5 they're going to be up there and undefeated since March means a point is more than most will take, especially in difficult weather conditions. I thought our mid dominated theirs first half, and possibly the substitution choices with Grant and Taylor weakened it as a whole leading to the goal.
Fair play, they threw the kitchen sink at us, but we appeared to deal with everything, hit post and shits at Keeps.....I left disappointed we didn't win, but on reflection a draw was a fair result.
A decent start.

funny how folk see game differently ,team marks varying from 60 to 84 ish! and individuals from 3 to 8.4 !
