I normally stand on the terraces at The Mem but was diagnosed with cancer in early May and have just finished my course of chemotherapy. I'm hoping to be up to going to a match by late August or September but I don't think I'll be able to stand for 90 minutes. I realise seats are at a premium at The Mem, especially with the new south stand debacle! A friend suggested maybe I could enquire about a disabled ticket but I'm not sure if that's appropriate? On the Rovers website it says all home disabled spaces are currently taken by season ticket holders, but if the full away disabled allocation isn't taken up then seats may become available on a match by match basis. Just wondering if anyone has ever done this or who you contact to enquire about it?

I know there will be 6 disabled and carer spaces for home fans available on a match by match basis in the new South Stand when it's finished . Clare at Rovers told me this.
My dad is 84 and disabled and up until this season he's always had a season ticket. However, he's not now in the best of health so wanted to pick and choose the matches he could attend.
You normally have to provide a letter from the DLA as proof of disability, but worth giving Clare a ring to see if there is anything they can do in your case.

Pete in the ticket office has always helped me with any unusual circumstances, so along with Claire will be a great place to ask. Good luck with your recovery.

He was brilliant last year when I was having treatment for cancer, good luck with your recovery - holding positive thoughts for you. Clare is brilliant too, however, I think she might be part-time these days.

Best of luck in your recovery.
I would have expected Rovers to look at it on a Friday night and see if they have any spare, if so release it to you. If not then, it goes to the registered disabled.
This may sound harsh, but I wouldn't expect you to get the free carers ticket. I don't think that would be fair.
Have you got a terrace season ticket?
If so, maybe someone would swap for a part of the season. Maybe open a thread just for that?

Only 6 carer spaces, that's poor from the club, 3000 odd new seats once built and only 6 seats, wow, disnt see that one coming. Waited eagerly for new stand, then accepted the delays, now its going to be nigh on impossible to get support when the stand is built. Watching on I-follow it is then until the FM is built, how many PA tickets then, 7?

Thanks for the advice and best wishes everyone. I can't find an email address for Pete but have emailed Clare. My tumor markers are down to a normal level so I'm on the slow road to recovery now 🤞 hope to be back supporting the gas as soon as possible!

I have leg issues that flair up occasionally due to disability. Updated season ticket to a seat so I get a rest. Aware that I may have days when I need to use a wheelchair I asked the steward by the wheelchair enclosure what the protocol was to get access. Pretty much told if you're in a chair you'll get in. Not convinced by his answer but did make me think what would happen if someones circumstances changed temporarily and they are 'wheeled' in. Hopefully the contact with the club will provide a solution as I'd assume it's not the first time it's been asked

If you would like to e-mail Pete, his address is peteweymouth@bristolrovers.co.uk If you explain to him that you need one seat, not necessarily in a disabled section, and do not need a carer seat (hope I've got that right). Tell him your health circumstances and the reasons you can't stand at the moment, but, presumably you can go up steps to access a seat. Good luck with all of it.
