Early line up and subs opinion cost I am wasting time until my next meeting... ----------Cox Hoole Taylor Crama Gordon ---------Finley Thomas Evans Ward Sinclair ---------Collins Subs Marquis for Sinclair (60) McCormick for Finley (70) Vale for Thomas and Grant for Gordon (80) I’d go with that although from what I’ve heard the Chelsea kid has been superb in training and might be in contention with Sinclair for that wide left spot.

Anyone remember a Jason Roberts wonder goal away at Cambridge in the early part of the century, maybe 2000 or 2001? I’ve tried to find footage online but so far drawn a blank I was there that day. Didn't he pick it up near the half way line before running half the length of the pitch to score?

Cox
Hoole Wilson Taylor Flash
Ward Crama
Thomas Brown Collins
Marquis
Evans, Sincs, Vale and Finley to provide necessary legs in the second half as we romp home to a 1-0 win, Taylor with a towering header which hits the bar, bounces to hit the keepers back and spins back in off the 2 posts in the 104th minute

How will our composed (so far mainly)defence cope with the Cambridge high press? Totally forced Oxford into hoof it from the back failure in the opening league fixture.Tried to do it to Stevenage but as they hoof it anyway it was pretty much a waste of energy in that game as all fat bastard Evans teams hoof it anyway. Will be a very different test for us as none of our first 3 opponents used a full on press against us and Crama in particular has had a fairly comfortable time of it being the go to man in possession at the back in his 2 starts. This game may be the one that tells us the most so far if our promotion credentials are as good as we hope as you can be sure many of our future opponents will try and recreate the pressing game if Cambridge f**k us up doing this.Won’t be pretty but will go for another battling 1-2 win for us.

Interesting, or we could play them off the park with the gaps they will inevitably leave trying to press too high. 0 - 5 Gas.

Isn’t the high press exactly what we’re hoping for ? They commit players up front , we pass it around them and hit them on the break with pace & power and exploit the gaps . *if we’re good enough

Need a tidy player in defensive midfield who’s happy receiving the ball and protecting it with his back to goal as an outlet ball . Not sure we have that player at the moment.
