I’ve been supporting the gas my whole life the same as the rest of you. We’ve all seen just about every level of tin pot over the years.
I remember when we were relegated to non-league, the football was some of the worst I’ve ever seen! From any team! I used to go with my best mate, we’d cheer them on but also laugh a bit about how awful it was. (What else can you do?)
Joey said a while ago that he was going to build a team we could be proud of, I think he’s been true to his word and done exactly that.
Gone seem to be the days of losing our best players for nothing, or not being able to attract players of sufficient quality. In other years Evans and Collins would have been long gone and the loans wouldn’t have come back. (Or even been here at all)
In al my years I can’t remember a better squad of quality players, it’s great to have this team to support! (I’d support them regardless🤣) It’s great we have players the fans can be proud of and want to sing songs about. I think this transfer window’s as good for the Rovers as I’ve ever seen.
All this and all the good stuff going on with the training ground, fanzone all the great community work. (I know the south stand is a bit of a mess but at least it’s progress! what do people expect? the scoreboard took a whole season to install 😂) personally I’m happy with how everything seems to be going, I can actually see some tangible progress on and off the field. I’m always optimistic but even more so at the moment. I actually believe the stadium might happen and everything.
Anyway, I just wanted to share my thoughts really. I’m not sure we’ve ever had it so good, We have a good squad and play some decent football. I’m Looking forward to an exciting season ahead! The Gas are going up! The Gas are going up!

I think we may be about to enter a “golden era” for the gas. Joey knows what it takes, I’ve every confidence he’ll take us up this season. (I can read tea leaves🤣)

Been a Gashead since a neighbour took me to Eastville when I was 7, (all my family are Sh1!heads but I still love them just ) I’m 73 now and live in Oz. Watch every game on iFollow night and day games. Not since the Bannister Warbouys days have I been this excited ( maybe Jarman, Alfie Biggs, Larry Lloyd, Martin to name a few got the juices flowing) . Always liked JB since appointed and yes this could be the season to get promotion. Predicting Gas get over the line at Cambridge but will take a draw . I will be tuned in at 10pm to cheer them on. Wish I was in the terraces with you guys and gals today Good luck and safe trip to you all travelling and best wishes to everyone else biting their nails

Good for you mate, always good to read positive post's, there is no doubt in my mind that JB is determined to improve the 'lot' of Rovers and their fans, i think it's down to him ,his relationship with Wael, his growing reputation as a coach to be trusted with emerging talent from top clubs and his ability to 'sell' his vision to some very good players that we seem to be on the up. It will still be a challenge for him and his staff to mould all this talent into a winning machine and keep every one happy and it's gonna be interesting to see how it all works out, there will be bumps along the way for sure but i am convinced JB sees himself as the man to take this club to new heights and is determined to do so, time for everyone to get behind him!!

Let's not forget Wael in all this too. Joey has put a good squad together and fair play to him for that but I cna also never remember a time when a Rovers manager has been so heavily supported. Hopefully the combination of the 2 will see us in the Championship next season. 🥳 We are that team that is going to go under the radar this season.

I think plenty of Rovers Managers have been just as heavily supported.
The big difference is Joey's eye for a player.
Other managers for whatever reason didn't have the contacts or the nouse to get players like Elliot Anderson, Harvey Vale, Lamare Bogarde etc to come here

It’s funny but I think it might be the first year that the calendar still features our players in January. Usually it’s a collection of players who play for other teams.😂

They’ll most likely be here until the end of the season, usually by January there’s only a couple of players left.🤣it’s an improvement anyway. I think last year they had “Legends” so it couldn’t happen. Just another indication of positive things happening.

Being in Cornwall restrists my attendance but not my love of MY team. JB is doing the work that should have been done many years ago and I for one will support him in his efforts. Happy travelling to the masses (I miss away games with no Motorways....!!)

JB now has a squad major injuries excluding , where whatever formation he selects pre match or whilst in game, he dosnt have to put square pegs in round holes. Exciting times are ahead for Rovers , I truly believe this.

It will be extra exciting if Rovers attain promotion this season but concerning what must be done to the dilapidated Memorial Ground. No doubt the big expense would be signing quality Championship players and an all-seater stadium! Can the Gas afford promotion? UTG

The proof is in the pudding, if we’re in the mix next May then great. Till then I’ll treat anything above mid table mediocrity as a bonus

With the exception of a few individual players, staff and fans over the years, I have always generally been proud of my club.
Even the covid relegation season, we had some great people going beyond the call, ie Adam Tutton and the CT, Alfie, Rodman, Gas Girls etc
Some players may have been very poor, but I can honestly say not many have not put in the effort (contrary to others opinions on here).
In fact if rumours are believed, it has been the player power factor in which good players deliberately (allegedly) don't put in the effort (Dave Penny period) that doesn't make me proud.
JB has undoubtedly used the increased budget well, though it will be quite a problem keeping everyone happy - in football speak, a nice problem to have.
Maybe its the modern world, but on here there is a lot of blame culture. The team is good, the squad is good, the stadium is getting there (eventually, fingers crossed). Hopefully the CT gets more budget and we can improve the diversity of our support, then we can gradually improve all areas and everyone can be proud.
