For those interested, here are the highlights of the Gas Girls last pre-season friendly … unfortunately the quality of the highlights isn’t the high production standard we get with the Mens team but if you watch the highlights you’ll be able to see what a quality women’s team we have and just how dominant we were.. Bath are a newish decent team and are one league below but our girls have beaten higher leagued opposition and quietly I think are on for a decent season - promotion is the aim and only the champions in the league are guaranteed promotion.. (we came 2nd last season 1pt behind the champions)….

I believe that Bath City only formed their team last season, so hopefully will be on the way up as they get established.

It will be interesting to see what investment the women's team get. I think league wise we are way below where we should be.
It would be good to see them get some financial backing and maybe even play at the mem.

Good luck to them, But as for playing at the mem they tried that and was watched by about 10-20 people it’s not worth the detriment of the pitch.

If they were to rise through the leagues then they should .

Yeah I agree if they go up the leagues and Lockleaze becomes to small for them then an occasional game at the mem whilst playing at maybe a local semi pro ground would be the logical next step I think. And if they progress to the heights of the Womens game then no reason they couldn’t play regularly at the Mem.

I would have thought the club or Wael could match those amounts at least. They are heavily relient on individuals and the excellent CT.

If they get promoted I think they have to play in a stadium somewhere because of the league rules…. But at the last game at the Mem they had against Forest Green they had something like 1500 or more … I reckon they’d get decent crowds for the level if they were at the Mem… as many as we get for the pizza trophy games at least….

Definitely have to change ground if they go up one more level - need more “professional” infrastructure than Lockleaze currently provides.
