It’s glaringly obvious to me that Bogarde and Woods must start against shrews. Bogarde was the best player on the park tonight and what we’ve been missing. His touch is always positive and progressive as opposed to the “back to the centre half option” that we have been too guilty of this year.

Couldn’t agree more with Bogard being first class. Don’t mind the back to centre backs passing, if that’s the right option. See similar post on match day thread!

I think a midfield 3 of Bogarde, Woods and Anthony Evans would be our strongest.

I think a midfield 3 of Bogarde, Woods and Anthony Evans would be our strongest. Agreed. This will also allow Evans to play in his best position without having to worry about dropping too deep. But we all know Finley will continue to start games so one of the above will continue to miss out. We also have Grant Ward (who I assume is injured). He is still a good option.

Really enjoyed McCormick, he’s improving every time I see him. Has to be in the squad for me. Cannot see the fascination with Evans personally but it’s all perspective

Woods is different class, some of his passing you would see in the prem, out of contract at the end of the season, controversial I know I would make him captain.
Less pedestrian last night and we got a lot of shots away, more entertaining.

Some good performances last night, but you cannot conclude that a good game against them guarantees the same level in a competitive league match. The players had much more freedom than they'd normally have. There weren't many stiff challenges. It was a lesser team who had zero confidence. Tiny crowd so less intensity.
How would anybody know if Woods is match fit or up to speed with on field duties and relationships? His movement off the ball was superb, floating between the lines and looking effortless with his passing accuracy. However, he'll likely get walloped against a lg1 midfielder in a match so it'll be interesting to see how he gets on when the midfield gets bypassed like it often does. Is he box to box, can he tackle, any pace, does he do the gritty stuff like Finley? Evans and Bogarde don't, so those 3 together might lose the 'nuisance factor' that sometimes gives an extra 1%.
It was a positive result and hopefully injected some life into a few of them, especially AC.

Less pedestrian last night and we got a lot of shots away, more entertaining. He is very much a new “Chris Lines” and we’ve been missing that for a while. That ability to pick out a pass very calmly no matter the distance and to dictate play without doing too much is very Beckham-esque which is what Linesy did so so well for so long, and Woods is the first to do that in a while for us.

He's stepped down from the champ and has played half a game against a depleted lg2 side during a match that was already won. Great performance buy I'd hang on with some of thus hype.

Um, no, he started the Lincoln game and was the standout player to many. We’ve also not played any “Lg2 side”s this season, depleted or otherwise, so are we talking about the same player / club / subject / language?

Lad was running the show Saturday for majority of the first half. Also agree, it’s handy knowing which teams are in our league or not 😄

Apologies. Switch that for lg1 and I maintain the points though. Looking forwards to seeing how he does over the next few weeks. Certainly a great run out last night.
