Seems to be a perpetual war on here between fans showing their support in different ways.
Fan a) Cynical outlook, wants the best for Rovers but will point out their wrongdoings, because they want them to improve.
Fan b) Optimistic outlook, glass half fulll and will see the best in the club even when mistakes have been made.
Instead of constantly bashing each other every single thread, realise what you have in common.
You love this football club.
You've just got different ways of showing it. Neither is right, neither is wrong.
For some, moaning at the club is a release from the stresses of everday life.
For others supporting the club is in their DNA.
We're all Gasheads, for heavens sake.

[/quote] What a crappy 'back handed' compliment. What I can tell you is that all the fans of Bristol Rovers on the forum, supporting the club is in their DNA. All fans do not want us to bumble along as a club that doesn't know their destination. ALL fans never want to be back in the situation of the 80's with serious financial problems, no home to call their own. Not even playing in the city they are from. There is a place for all fans to move forward. Some more cynical than others. It's OK as long as we are moving forward as a club. |

Its not just Happy Clappers v Moaners - we have some real bell ends as well who are just in a world of their own. Even yesterday i read a comment that certain people were not " real fans" because they don't have a long standing connection with the club. Where do people get off on coming up with these titles - just so that they can then have an argument over the subject

Its not just Happy Clappers v Moaners - we have some real bell ends as well who are just in a world of their own. Even yesterday i read a comment that certain people were not " real fans" because they don't have a long standing connection with the club. Where do people get off on coming up with these titles - just so that they can then have an argument over the subject "Real fans" don't resort to calling other people Bell ends and try and shut down the discussion. "Real fans" will listen to someone else's perspective and answer accordingly. "Real fans" will allow the conversation to flow and add an interesting and thought provoking response. "Real fans" will inject a bit of humour. Never at the expense of the poster, only the topic. "Real fans" realise that Bristol Rovers is in all our DNA and don't see themselves as better than others. |

If you believe you’re a Gashead &a fan of the club then you’re one of us. 0 games or 500 games, season ticket or yet to have been to the Mem.
Sadly we do have those who seem to revel in their own self importance and look down at others (normally a lot younger than themselves), like they’re owed something for being fortunate enough to have been attending games for 40 odd years.

This guy has only started to stand by us this season. He is forever moaning. Within five seconds of the KO against Lincoln, we gave the ball straight to the opposition, oh ffs get a effin grip, what's wrong with you, it's going to be a long season, no team gets 100% possession in a game.

Exactly I yearn for the days when we're actively a big enough club to not have 'real' fans, plastic American fans saying they've always loved the club and cannot wait to get to Bristol as they know it's their spiritual home. Unfortunately we are bang average as a club and anyone mad enough to support us is as real as it comes. |
