Glad to see in the programme, Tom talked about planning improvements to the toilets and trying to get the Jerk King back. (At my age they are related!) My Mrs said I should think about getting some Viagra. It might not make me James Bond but it might make me Roger Moore!

If anyone has any comments regarding the improvement (or otherwise) of the toilet facilities please would you let me know as it is something that I have been trying to monitor from the fans point of view. I can channel these back to TG.
I would be grateful if you would be as specific as possible (yuck). It isn;t always the easiest of things to do, either for you describing your experiences, or for me trying to monitor them!!!!

What improvements have been made? It seems as far as the west stand is concerned the number of toilets have been reduced not increased, whilst the old "cabin" loo was a bit WW2 in style at least it was somewhere you could relieve yourself without having to join a long queue.

Yesterday was another regular occurrence for the west stand in that the drinks/food cabin was shut again, so nowhere to buy a drink or food once you'd passed the turnstiles. I did manage to buy two cans of soft drinks in the bar at half time but that cost me £5 and I didn't even get offered a glass or paper cup to use!

Steve Lamble Supporters Club Director They hadn't been cleaned since the last home game.Dried on puke. Nice. We are also breaking the health and safety rules on the Thatchers. We should have at least 4 sit down toilets, maybe more depending on the Male/Female fan split.

It isn;t always the easiest of things to do, either for you describing your experiences, or for me trying to monitor them!!!! Steve Lamble Supporters Club Director The Pirate has gone massively downhill since Keith Brookman was editor. I know costs are a big issue but there must be demand as it constantly sells out ages before kick off. The target audience for Pirates Pots are the former Pirates Lottery, Goldbond, Helpline, ShareScheme members, so why not have a full page advert in the Pirate? A lot of these olders fans are more inclined to buy a programme than go on Twitter ( not all as there are a few silver surfers!) If the programme was better and the club printed enough if would sell more, so the club could charge more for the many adverts it contains. Why not have the club photo centre spread in the next Saturday issue and advertise the fact on Twitter. If they make a real effort to make better articles, better pictures and a results page, then it might entice some youngsters to buy it more often. Get them early and then make it habit forming.

What idiot thought it was a good idea to put up the sign saying there are no soft drinks beyond the West turnstiles inside the ground when they know you can’t get back out. Unbelievable Jeff.

Yesterday the kiosk just inside the turnstiles at the West side closed just before 1400. The reason given that the card machine was down. A friend of mine arrived just as the hatch was being wound down and said he wanted a pasty, he was given a free one and the hatch was closed. The only choice we had in the SW corner was pork or turkey rolls although they did have hot drinks and the usual bar was in place. The kiosk for programmes and 50/50 tickets at the Mem gates is a continuing disaster zone and has been since the advent of no cash. The wireless card machine freezes on a regular basis and for the last two games we have walked away without getting anything. It’s an absolute joke the club wireless system is obviously water poor, why thst kiosk cannot be supplied with a hard wired machine is beyond me as their is a telegraph poll within a few feet with cables feeding the clubhouse etc etc.

Toilet facilities in the Thatchers are shameful. I've emailed the club about this previously and mentioned it on every feedback form sent after home games. Never had a reply. Water pressure in the gents is so low the tap stops working so it's not possible to wash your hands which is pretty gross.
I used to bring my two daughters from an early age and had a season ticket in the family stand for several seasons until they got to the age where they didn't want to come anymore because the toilet facilities were just awful and not what young ladies felt comfortable with. Can't say I blame them but it's a shame.
More often than not these days I make a stop at Tesco to use their facilities on my way to and from the ground. I don't buy a drink anymore because it's too risky! Of all the things that could be done to improve the ground I'd have thought this would be one of the most straightforward but it seems as though there is no interest from the club in offering basic, decent facilities.

Anyone know why they only open large Thatchers bogs at half time these days? Makes no sense to me.

Many thanks for your comments and especially those that PM'd me on the subject.
I can confirm that I have collated the comments related to the issue of Mem Facilities and have fed them back to the Club and that these comments have now been aacknowledged as part of the project to upgrade the facilities.
Some of your comments were unrelated to this particular issue - I have noted these but have not reported them to the club as yet.

Its not as if they are used every day or every week either. Once a fortnight should be plenty of time to at least give them a deep clean

Think we’ll go in the new south stand which we hopefully have some half decent facilities / toilets

They are a hygiene fail and it's out of kilter with modern sport. The customer base demands facilities for old, young, male, female, physical disabilities and impairments. The facilities we have score very low on the acceptance scale, but enough punters are obviously ok with it🤷♂️
