I stopped at Membury services the other day for a quick gypsies kiss on the way to London and they are under a refurb currently so have temporary toilets in the car park. I was actually quite impressed with them as they were cleaner than whats usually on offer there but they are basically huge portacabins with properly plumbed in facilities with a row of 8 urinals plus 3 cubicles. I did think as I was relieving myself that these would be a big upgrade to whats at the mem. I dont know how much they would cost to purchase/hire but it would certainly solve the issues we have regarding toilet facilities.

I would look to get the disabled facilities upgraded. Worth liaising with these guys and having a changing table available even on non match days, it'll be a PR win and help many people. www.changing-places.org/

The club now uses similar portaloos at the west stand entrance, the problem is that they are never cleaned from one match to the next, so are in a disgusting state even though they look restively new. If the club took the trouble to employ a cleaner they'd be decent loos.

Hoping to take my daughter (9) to her first game as she’s been pestering me to go ( although she’s no interest in football so far 😂). Think we’ll go in the new south stand which we hopefully have some half decent facilities / toilets Should do, being new. I don't see much excuse for the state of the facilities at the mem. They are a hygiene fail and it's out of kilter with modern sport. The customer base demands facilities for old, young, male, female, physical disabilities and impairments. The facilities we have score very low on the acceptance scale, but enough punters are obviously ok with it🤷♂️ I doubt they are OK, but what can fans do to make the club improve them? I doubt the club has ever done a survey to ask ex fans why they've stopped attending games at the Mem?

Like you say, the club don't do surveys so perhaps they don't care.

The club sent me an email after the Wigan game wanting to know my experience, good & bad. Funnily enough I mentioned the toilets !

If anyone has any comments regarding the improvement (or otherwise) of the toilet facilities please would you let me know as it is something that I have been trying to monitor from the fans point of view. I can channel these back to TG. I would be grateful if you would be as specific as possible (yuck). It isn;t always the easiest of things to do, either for you describing your experiences, or for me trying to monitor them!!!! Steve Lamble Supporters Club Director The portaloos in the blackthorn/Thatchers terrace are a disgrace and unacceptable for kids. They stink, are fouled by HT, the doors are tried by people looking for a spare trap, it's also a smoking area and is just awful. The male toilets in the Blackthorn/Thatchers bar didn't have soap on sat, plus one of the driers is blocked by the door which is pegged open. Thanks for raising your hand 👍🏼

Steve Lamble Supporters Club Director Steve, Thank you for your question, I would ask you and a female colleague/friend to visit the toilets in each section of the stadium at half time and be completely honest and ask yourselves “would I be happy using these facilities? and would i be happy for members of my family to use these facilities?” Only then can you understand. With total respect don’t ask others to do what you can quite easily do yourself. I respect your support and the time you put into helping our club become better 👍🏾

Maybe we could all take it in turns cleaning the toilets on a weekly basis? In order to get the supplies maybe we could have a whip round in each stand and do a tannoy announcement? Alternatively we could purchase a toilet paper vending machine which charges per square. Quite popular in some countries now and it might turn the club a profit.

Sounds good but judging by the pledges to ffsc and shirts for charity, we may struggle..

With total respect don’t ask others to do what you can quite easily do yourself. I respect your support and the time you put into helping our club become better 👍🏾 Equaliser, Many thanks for your constructive comment. Just to put my original comment/ question into perspective, I should have also mentioned that I did do a review of the toilet facilities at last saturday's game. Also, I did bring a female friend (Not a Gashead - YET) who was able to gain access to the Ladies facilities. The purpose of my review was to ask myself exactly the questions that you raised and then to report those comments back to the Club. I reviewed the facilities in the lead up to the game and just after halftime. Unfortunately time pressures, and the fact that I currently cannot access all areas of the Ground, meant that I couldn't get to areas like the East Stand/terrace. I was writing my "review" for the Club when, coincidentally, I saw the OP on the forum. So - having seen MTFCs OP, I took the opportunity to ask the forum for any comments that they had and I have added those comments to my report, which has now been submitted. Some of the comments have been non specific and generally fall into the "Disgusting" category. Whilst these are difficult to relay in any specific and meaningful way, the very scary thing is that some people are genuinely scared to bring their kids to the games because of the facilities. This cannot be right. I want to do everything I can do (whilst I am in a position to have a meaningful influence) to ensure that fans feel comfortable in attending games and, equally importantly, that they feel comfortable to bring their kids with them (as they represent the future gashead generations). If this issue is one that stands in the way of that, it is an issue that needs to be addressed and I welcomed the notes in the Programme advising that the Club were also trying to improve the situation. I will continue to pass any comments that you have back to the Club. My reports will not mention your names. However, I would prefer it if your comments are specific. We have done the "Disgusting" comments - I need them to be specific so that I can identify the specific areas that need improvement. Steve Lamble I think that I probably do have a title but I don't know what it is

I cant see how needing to improve the toilets requires much work, feedback or a project approach. The facilities are in plain sight and are easily comparable with other clubs within 20 miles.
Here is the approach.
**Are the toilets acceptable-Yes/No **Give a reason for your answer-They are perfect/They are unacceptable because... **What do the facilities mean to your enjoyment of the matchday-They enhance my matchday/I don't come to games with my family because the facilities are w**k.
There you go👍🏼
