Fossil found. No, it's not Jamie Cureton..............
.
THE University of the West of England covers part of Walls Court Farm is in South Gloucestershire. Soon another part of it will also be home to the new Bristol Rovers' stadium. But I am fascinated by its ancient history.
Examining its geology and using fossil records I have managed to trace back the site's history back to around 210 million years ago. This was called the Triassic period.
........As I lifted it up my heart almost burst with excitement.
What I had found was a fossilised piece of the sea bed dating back more than 200 million years, pictured, and with all the ripple marks still in the rock.
The only time I had seen anything so well preserved was in the natural history museum in London. I still have the piece waiting to go on display.
