Obviously we cannot offer that sort of money - BUT - for a short-term deal, we could offer quite a bit, based on the money we've saved from the falling through of the JCH deal. 10k a week until January might well be doable and a sensible move IMO. |

Hasn't played for months, injury prone, and training with us so unlikely to be able to demand very high wages. Worth giving such players a chance if low risk to Rovers. Would likely benefit others just by having him training with us.

My gut feeling is this is Jennings helping out an agent again, and this is fair, it’s all part of wheeling and dealing. And by this, training with us like the Everton lad who did over the summer who I think is at Shef United now.
Wilson must be fit soon, Friend wasn’t also a major injury and I think Grant is doing well for us.
I would much rather wages be spent on someone like Lewis Grabban, or finding a striker with a bit more pace.

Free agents are a bit hit and miss. He played 26 games last season at championship level and on the face of it is an excellent signing. However it is reported he earned close £800k in wages last season.
I suppose not many lower league clubs could afford to sign him on a permanent contract so a short term deal would suit both parties. I expect he will want around £5 -8k per week if he was on £15k per week last season.

Not sure if there is a max as long as you don't exceed your overall registered squad size, Exeter signed 2 this season so is definitely scope for more than 1 assuming stay within other registration parameters www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66821129 |

I think Exeter signed more than 1 after the window closed this season (Caleb Watts and Yanic Wildschutt). Think the efl rules are that you can have a squad size of 22 (excluding the players under a certain age). If you go by the list linked below it seems we had 20 registered initially and have since added Chris Martin. So presumably we have space to add 1 more if we want to? |
