Anyone know what food you get pre-match at the mem in hospitality, is it worth doing these days?
I know people used to rave about it and said however bad the team was on the pitch it was one thing we were fantastic at, but seem some murmurings it's not what it was?
I went years ago expecting a roast, but the kick off was changed to midday at the last minute so we got a breakfast instead. Understandable as an 11am roast would be weird and whilst there was nothing offensive about it, it was no better than you'd get at the Harvester and we all thought it would've been cheaper and better to have just gone to a greasy spoon on Gloucester Road.
Any views appreciated!

We used to go at least once a Season, food was lovely but the last few times were very disappointing so we go for a pub lunch instead. Plus, £85? I don't think so.

I read recently that they brought it back in house. I remember before they outsourced it that the food was better. Hopefully an improvement.

Last game of last season bought forward to lunchtime kick-off, so hospitality turned out to be scrambled eggs on toast - well if you could call it that, very little over cooked eggs, on a single small piece of massively over toasted sour dough bread. not enough croissants or pain aux chocolats for all who attended. No decaffeinated tea or coffee, and all for the princely sum of £54. Yes £54 for inedible scrambled egg on "toast". No offer of refund, barely even an acknowledgement of the fare being so poor. Not for us (12) again. We now go to Grounded on Gloucester Road, for a decent breakfast at a quarter of the price. We understand that sometimes things go wrong, but not even an attempt to rectify or even acknowledge the situation.

Last season the outsourced catering was a disappointment however this season it’s much much better especially now it’s gone back to a hot buffet style in the boxes as opposed to an attempt at being ostentatiously singularly served.
What narked me last year was that in the boxes you had to sit down by 1:30pm because it took so long for them to get it to the kitchen. Nothing was served past 2:15pm so if you were late to a game your food sat on the table going cold as they wanted to serve the whole box rather than the people that were in there.
This year it’s gone back to how it was before with the chef who looks after the players at the quarters heading it up and I have to say, I’ve enjoyed every meal so far.

Sorry to hear that mate, my breakfast experience a few years ago wasn't that bad; plenty to go around including bacon and sausage but it just felt like what you'd have at a midrange hotel when struggling with a massive hangover rather than a memorable dining experience! Is the usual 3pm fare a carvery now then? Unless I'm being blind the official website gives a pretty terrible level of detail as to what the food actually is!

Recently had the best every scrambled egg on toast at the Lansdown Restaurant in the Royal United Hospital, I believe that Iain P is the head of catering there now - Rovers loss.

Hospitality used to be a seasonal dressing up for us as well.
Last one v Salford and it was the last one we'll do. We were celebrating a birthday, but because only 10 of us, they squeezed 2 others on our table without notice...we were lucky that the 2 were nice, but it could have been worse - I just think if you roll up to a table in a restaurant and there's 2 erroneously sat with you it would feel a bit weird.
No explanation. Then again, none really needed.
Our table collapsed! I was left holding it up like the incredible hulk, whilst the girl (presumably new one under Brighty) just watched!?
The food was carvery and the price much inflated from the season before COVID.
Have to say that the carvery and food was gorgeous, and we did enjoy the day in the end. Talking around 2 strangers made it awkward and put a taint on the occasion, and when we discovered the carvery had been replaced so they could squeeze more tables in, and outsourced the catering, the chef we knew had gone, and hiked the price up yet again, we've chosen to meet at different venues and enjoy hospitality of the Gloucester Road.....and I have to say, we haven't looked back.

Oh that's easy....some book the occasion rather than the food, which is totally understandable. Birthdays, anniversaries, memoriam, stags, workmates, just friends and families getting together. Sometimes the date is important. For others, it's the fixture or opponent. Away fans have been known to frequent if their allocation is sold out, but it's kept quiet. It used to be part of 1883 draw as a reward. It can be a wild place of exhilaration... After Torquay at home when Holtby apologised to each and every one of us in our out the league relegation season, it can be a desolate place..

We were in hospitality for that dreadful game my son was a mascot for his birthday. Before the game they made a real fuss of him making the other diners chant his name on the way to meet the players. The one brilliant thing that happened that season that we will never forget.

Ben Garner knows how it feels to hold the table up....! ...or he will pretty soon the way it's going for him.

Anyone know if there's a hospitality option for the Weston-super-Mare game? Our website is bloody terrible unless I'm being blind!

Anyone know if there's a hospitality option for the Weston-super-Mare game? Our website is bloody terrible unless I'm being blind! If you look on the Weston game tickets thread someone said half the ground was shut and no hospitality. The ground is gradually now being opened up more but I haven’t heard any mention of reinstating hospitality.
