If you keep flogging the only option you have then it’s likely to break at some point! First of all JCH is on another level to Martin and Marquis but the version I saw 3/4 weeks ago is very different to the one we knew under Cogs. He’s older and 29 now, he has bulked up or call it put the weight on and he’s known for his refuelling issues. Remember Andy Williams under Trollope, he’s 37 now and bowed out from the professional game from Walsall in the summer, he’s conference North now back at Hereford. He looked after himself, it’s how he took the knocks and played on late, I predict JCH will go non league at 33, 34 latest, his body won’t be able to take it just like Lambert’s couldn’t who BTW is big now! JCH only on the bench last night . Unbelievable that fans were happy to see us pay up to 1m for him . Absolute madness. He was only on the bench because their manager wanted to look at other options because he thinks it is certain JCH is leaving in the new year. Certainly not dropped and very disappointed to be on the bench according to Fergie but he accepted why the manager was doing it. |

Topper I’m grateful for hindsight and the transfer collapsing, that wasn’t the JCH I used to recognise a couple of weeks ago.
And this golden boot talk, why didn’t anyone else sign this bargain then?

How many league one teams had that sort of cash to spend? If it wasn’t for a transfer fee there wouldn’t be a single club that wouldn’t have wanted a multiple golden boot winner who is still in his 20’s. Why do you try so hard to be negative about everything? I haven’t seen anyone describe JCH at £1m as a bargain. Who cares what he costs if the owner is willing to pay it - if he was the missing piece of the jigsaw and helped us to promotion it wouldn’t matter one jot anyway. |

I’d steer well clear of JCH in January unless he was available at a cut price. Dont think he’s the answer to our woes and not the player he once was. Dream world , Longstaff from Notts, he’s just signed a new contract though so no chance of that. Get the ball into the box and Langstaff would score a lot, but that's been our big problem this season, not enough possession in the opponents penalty area. JCH used to win us a lot of fouls in attacking areas, but if you're just going to take a quick free kick and pass it sideways, what's the point in that. I think we probably need to drop Pep ball until we actually get promoted, as we definitely have a squad capable of achieving that. |

You judge Barton by his L1 record so how do you only judge JCH on one game when his record at L1 level is impeccable? |

Dream world , Longstaff from Notts, he’s just signed a new contract though so no chance of that. Longstaff or Langstaff? We def won't be signing Longstaff he's flying at Newcastle. Could sign his brother on a free I believe? Notts County won't sell Langstaff. |

We clearly have rich owners given the bid for JCH and they’ve backed him this summer, so how long will they put up the results and being in the bottom half? Lack of a settled team / core. Throwing players under the bus for anything. Does that lose the dressing eventually? I think so. Blaming players for being inconsistent instead of looking at the constant tinkering of formations and personnel as being the main reason IMO. No settled way of playing, seems to change week to week. All reasons IMO why he’s gone. |

I judged him on his size, his figure and his pace, it wasn’t good showing. 4 goals in 13 games, no one else bidding for him like us, if he was the GOAT still, peak at 29, someone would have signed him. I’m not looking at last season Gavin, I am looking at the now, body and goals, he’s not what he used to be 👍 |
