It hasn’t been amazing of late, no question there, but a huge statement from the top bods if true.
Must have someone lined up to come in, again, if this is correct.

I think wel get Karl Robinson or Steve Cottrell but I'd prefer Paul cook who's doing a terrific job at chesterfield and has a management style that suits the squad we have built.

Won't miss his football to be honest - I liked what he has done to the football club, he has sorted out a lot of the mess, but his presence has bought the club down, and our reputation has been damaged. If it wasn't a footballing decision, I wouldn't be surprised if it was for his disrespectful comments about Steve Evans, which were absolutely immature and not required.

I'm very surprised and very disappointed. I believe he would have turned the tide. I hope the club don't live to regret this, the wrong appointment could lead to disaster this season.
I hope this proves to be a real statement of intent and not a total bottle job.

Tuesday night I personally lost hope. I look forward to a less controversial future under a new manager who can push us forward.

Not sure there will be many complaints.
I wonder how much disruption this will cause away from the first 11 though?
He had a go, doesn't need the money(or associated stress) so is probably quite satisfied.
Interested to see what happiest as this is a strong move early into a season.

Bristol Rovers Football Club can confirm that today the club has relieved First Team Manager Joey Barton of his duties.
Everyone at the club would like to thank Joey for all his efforts and wish him well in the future.
In the interim, Andy Mangan will lead the team supported by Glenn Whelan, Danny Ventre and Anssi Jaakkola who will remain in post.
