It’s evident from what some of the players and staff has said that Joey did not lose the dressing room. I can understand why they club might fire him for his outbursts. We do not win many friends. If the club have sacked him with no marquee new manager and we are interviewing Cotterel etc or internal appointment I think this is a bad move. They are all his players, it revolved around him and I sincerely doubt some of the absolute nobody managers we are being linked with can get these kind of players in. Shades of the Garner season here. Unless the new owners and Wael have someone better up their sleeve. If it’s assorted league 1 fodder getting the job then I think we will regret this I don't think anyone can argue that points per game this calendar year have been good enough. That being said I don't think I've ever and certainly not ever at rovers seen a sacked manager shown this much support from within the club and its supporters on being sacked. It's felt really strange a bit like sh** are we going to really regret this. I feel like the players could hit a downward spiral here they clearly wanted him to stay. JB just got us as a club and resonated with the majority of fans. The haters just hate him and who is is there was no changing that but wow the reaction since he's gone has been eye opening. Pray the players want to play for mangs going forward. Utg No other manager has used social media in the way that JB did. It's a different world we live in nowadays. People get their news from tik tok and Instagram. I imagine Frank Lampard has a similar impact, with similar terrible results

Pray the players are professional and do their job to their abilities. Pray also that tactically Mangan releases them from 65 minutes of keep ball (with zero outcome) It really is grating on the Barton haters how much support he's getting and how much he was loved 😂. He's living rent free in your heads even after he's gone Not really. If you are so sure he had that support, you all should form a protest and get him back.

That's not true though is it. If the club were made aware that no fans were going to turn up because they were all united against a new appointment they would be gone. Fans have successfully boycotted clubs over player transfers in the past and the player sacked. David Goodwillie being an example. There is an interesting side to this discussion. If so many fans still want JB to be manager, why doesn't someone take on the job of leading that campaign? You are right Hugo. Any owners would have to reconsider if 95% of fans wanted him back. Not listening would massively devalue their investment. Probably the same number want him back as didn't want him in the first place. History shows the majority will just support whoever is in post. No judgement being made in that, its just how it is.

I can't make the game today (illness) so I'm listening on the radio. I'm gutted as I'd loved to have been there to support the team. I'm also disappointed as I really wanted to be there for the first post-Barton game. I have not been massively critical of him online but have been vocal to my friends. But overall I'm delighted he's gone. As a person I never warmed to him. I cannot separate his personal actions from being the figurehead of the club and therefore was never happy with his appointment. I didn't boycott - I still bought my season ticket but never cheered him personally. Yes, the promotion was an amazing day with a good 10 game run in. Elliot Anderson is one of the best players I've seen in a Rovers shirt. But as good as it was, that was it. Barton promised much but ultimately delivered little. 4 home wins in 2023 is dreadful. Despite the odd good performance or more frequently good few minutes, on far too many occasions the football has been poor to watch. His treatment, publicly, of players who had bad games always struck me as unprofessional. Injuries seemed to be consistently part of the squad and I cannot believe it was just coincidence. Something was wrong with either the players he signed or the training program that was the wrong side of intense. The ever present hope of 'once everyone is fit' never materialised, nor did it look like it would. Hopefully a new manager can bring some much needed impetus and direction to the squad.

I didn't hear many saying that strongly believed it was the wrong decision.

Over 5000 on Instagram have thanked Joey, the haters on here are in the minority. Who said I'm a hater? It's embarrassing to start a petition to get a manager back for us who was mediocre. Makes us look tinpot. I signed the petition, sacking Joe at this point is huge mistake

“Where there is discord, may we bring harmony. Where there is error, may we bring truth. Where there is doubt, may we bring faith. And where there is despair, may we bring hope.” Is Margaret Thatcher in the running? Isn't that what she quoted on the steps of number 10
