Is today the day? Have the team travelled north? Who's on the bus? Perhaps someone in football knows? What has Karl Robinson had for breakfast? I’m sure MT will be confirmed today. I believe Mangan, Whelan and Bond have all left.

Guess we will be paying lots of compo to Rotherham for their coaches?!

That’s a Polish saying. Not heard anyone else use it You don't mind if I borrow it? Seems very apt under the circumstances. Dafty bugger. I was just surprised to see it. My parents generation RIP used it, a lot. It’s a good one to avoid getting involved in arguments. Made me smile

The players were openly ignoring and arguing back with coaching staff on the pitch on Tues. IMHO as nice as I’m sure they all are, that coaching team does not have the respect of the players that is necessary. Any manager will want their own staff. The club were deluded to think otherwise. If we believe MT is the man for the job, and personally I would agree with that on paper, he has to be backed with his own staff. And on the compensation for staff thing, I’m not so sure. Perhaps Rotherham want rid of them all anyway? Wouldn’t surprise me, if they’re gonna get Jones or whoever in they’re gonna want their own team.

Interestingly Taylor actually started out playing as a goalkeeper for Preston North End Boys and then the Everton Academy before dropping into non-league. He signed for Burscough, later playing in goal in their most famous result, the 2003 FA Trophy final 2–1 win over Tamworth at Villa Park in front of more than 14,000 people and live on Sky TV. Around this time he was even linked with trials at Manchester United and other clubs. Remarkable then to think he actually made his name in the pro game as a centre half after switching position during his time at Bath Uni/Team Bath.

The difference in our defence in the time between him being here has been glaring.

I don't think anyone is going to say to an incoming manager they can't bring their assistant and/or coach with them, but having the operations manager/DoF, chief scout etc, analysts etc should probably/arguably be club staff.

Well this gives me feint hopes that he can sort out our goalkeeping and defensive issues overall (though you don't need to relay the same stats about 2 goals per game conceded etc. )

Thing is we've not had that anyway, the structure is a mess. Investing in the right support staff, infrastructure, scouting and recruitment departments will largely determine whether he succeeds or not and whether we are serious about moving forwards as a club.

Stop clutching your pearls, you hated Joey and would have been aware his mates would be going, if not now sometime in the near future; and you think BRFC will be better off being managed by Tisdale 2 - the Taylor Carlisle combo, lets hope your right. Neither of these two played at a particularly high level, with no obvious connections with any of the big premiership clubs, and had a win ratio before getting sacked at Rotherham of 18%. Tisdale 1 said he could not do anything with the squad. At least the Tisdale 2 will inherit a really good squad of Joeys players.

The only continuity you really need is a physio like Phil Kite and kitman, but then Barton did his best to eradicate this. I mean, does every club keep on coaches to hold the players hands? And when Taylor fires some rockers Penney style if needed, so we want players running back to Bondy? I think we need to respect Taylor, if he feels he has the leadership skills and management support team to manage our situation, I’m 💯 behind him with sentiment out of the window. If Taylor wants to keep someone again I support him, it’s all done to us backing the managers judgement

Not like before, for example, with the managers scouser mate jobs for the boys appointment Chris Spendlove previously charged with murder and malicious wounding acting as Chief Scout and his other mate/minder Eddy as DoF.

Investing in the right support staff, infrastructure, scouting and recruitment departments will largely determine whether he succeeds or not and whether we are serious about moving forwards as a club. On the whole the coaching element of the club should be the only element that sees mass change. The structure around Football Operations, Youth, Medical etc should remain generally the same. Obviously people come and go but the structure should remain pretty solid. Have we ever truly had that?
