You don't mind if I borrow it? Seems very apt under the circumstances. Dafty bugger. I was just surprised to see it. My parents generation RIP used it, a lot. It’s a good one to avoid getting involved in arguments. Made me smile From the interweb: “ Some believe that Poland is the source of this catchy phrase. The saying is supposedly from a Polish proverb that goes, “Nie moje krowy, nie moje konie,” which translates to “It’s not my cows, it’s not my horses.” People initially used this proverb to describe themselves as not being responsible for caring for animals on their property. However, over time people started using the phrase to distance themselves from situations they deemed out of their control. Another similar take on this phrase is “nie mój cyrk, nie moje małpy” in Polish, which literally translates to “not my circus, not my monkeys.” It has a specific meaning and a slightly different emphasis than what is commonly known. People use it to express frustration when someone does not take advice or when their attempt to remedy a problem fails. Essentially, it means “not my problem” with a hint of “I told you so”.”

Glad it’s all Sorted, Matt Taylor looks good and has good visions on what he wants and bringing up youth and the u23's. HEard a few crazy stories about the last couple of days and i am sure they will all come out eventually. Did Rover get the man, sort of 3rd time lucky!! Do tell? They’re all gone anyway apparently! I wish I could! sworn to secrecy! Yes all back room staff gone. Main reason for the delay was We were heavily in to someone else but it came with a huge financial penalty and we could not get it done. As for no show Nathan, don't get me started!

I've given this some deeper thought today and I think, following the Rotherham news and reading through this thread, I am convinced in my mind that we should absolutely be approaching Matt Taylor immediately. He almost entirely fits what the board are looking for. - 41 years old, so young in manager's terms. - Experienced L2 promotion playing good football for an Exeter team that we know always do well to punch above their weight financially. - Solid start in L1 and then poached by Championship Rotherham, who he kept up. Yes, ultimately it didn't work out and naysayers will point to his 18% win record there (fair point) but the Millers are a yo-yo club with what must be a bottom three Championship budget whenever they are in that tier - so keeping them up last season was the achievement in itself. - 38.7% career win percentage in 282 games, fairly on par with the other frontrunner, Karl Robinson (40.9% from 694 games). - Former defender, so just generally making an assumption that that is a positive given our plethora of attacking options v our noticeably weaker backline. - Former Exeter, Bath, Cheltenham and Newport player/manager - safe to say he knows the area well and has spent a lot of time being settled in the West Country/Devon region. - From what I can tell, his move to Rotherham only saw his assistant, Wayne Carlisle, follow. From also what I can tell, Carlisle has not left Rotherham. I am making the assumption, again, that this means he is happy to work with our coaching staff, present and future, as per HAS' plan, be that Bondy, Whelan and/or Mangs himself. Basically the only thing he 'lacks' is a L1 promotion, which is probably not a dealbreaker given Mangs doesn't boast that on his CV, neither does Monk and Robinson's promotion was 8.5 seasons ago. He ticks all of my boxes, personally, and given we now have a sizeable international break following the Newport game tonight, I hope the board use this time to approach him to gage interest. Very happy with this supposed appointment. It's still a minor gamble and he has flaws that are right to be questioned but he's the realistic (Jones never was IMO) hire that fills me with the most optimism. Last time we had a Matt Taylor, we got back-to-back promotions...

Understand Mangan, as sad as that is. Disappointed if Whelan and Bond also left as hoped they could bring some continuity. Guess we will be paying lots of compo to Rotherham for their coaches?! Stop clutching your pearls, you hated Joey and would have been aware his mates would be going, if not now sometime in the near future; and you think BRFC will be better off being managed by Tisdale 2 - the Taylor Carlisle combo, lets hope your right. Neither of these two played at a particularly high level, with no obvious connections with any of the big premiership clubs, and had a win ratio before getting sacked at Rotherham of 18%. Tisdale 1 said he could not do anything with the squad. At least the Tisdale 2 will inherit a really good squad of Joeys players. I thought Bond originally left cos he fell out with JB, then came back after JB’s sacking?

How come Joey L1 record with his really good squad is so really disappointing. Move on PH, your tears are stopping you from thinking straight.

Investing in the right support staff, infrastructure, scouting and recruitment departments will largely determine whether he succeeds or not and whether we are serious about moving forwards as a club. On the whole the coaching element of the club should be the only element that sees mass change. The structure around Football Operations, Youth, Medical etc should remain generally the same. Obviously people come and go but the structure should remain pretty solid. Have we ever truly had that? Looking back it's very hard to understand why Wael sanctioned these appointments. Perhaps it shows that Wael was too trusting or even naive in his admiration of Barton. Seems to me the new owner saw this problem and decided something had to be done and did it. Sort term pain for long term gain...hopefully. Reminds me of the advice given to me by a boss when I was young...'love many but trust few...'

With Matt Taylor likely to employ a 5-3-2 out of possession & 3-5-2 in possession, I think the following could struggle in the future for game time and potentially moved on, not matching the system:
Luke Thomas - not good enough defensively to work as a wing back, been poor when played centrally this season.
Scott Sinclair - struggling to get in the side as it is, no real threat from wide positions & struggled at wing back when asked to play there.
James Gibbons - not fit for wingback role & lacking pace
Those who will thrive in Taylor's system:
Luca Hoole - exactly the type of player he seems to develop, good depth at RCB / RWB
Aaron Collins - Will have support in a two up top formation
George Friend - Slots in nicely at that LCB role

I see Taylor had Wayne Carlisle as his assistant at Exeter and Rotherham. I wonder if we'll see Waynerrr return to the gas? Always thought he had a rare bit of quality about him in that poor Graydon side

Six month loan deal, re-evaluate in the summer would be ideal. Separately, I think Archie Collins is a lovely midfielder, would be great to get our hands on him but unlikely. Same for Randell Williams, cracking winger but at top-of-the-league Bolton.

I know he's not had an immediate goal scoring return there, but getting rid of a player after 6 when you broke your transfer record for him would raise massive red flags.

I see a few people consider that Taylor failed at Rotherham. Not sure that’s the case. Paul Warne had three chances to keep Rotherham in the division in a relatively prolonged period at the helm and couldn’t manage it once. Taylor did keep them up last season, which can be considered a bit of a minor miracle given their recent history of being a yo-yo team. Yes, Warne had helped give them a good start to the season but by the time Taylor was appointed they had dropped to 14th and he got the job done. He was sacked relatively early into this season with the team four points from the safety line. His Exeter career was broadly very successful, albeit almost all in league 2. Admittedly he doesn’t have much experience in league 1 but he doesn’t really have too many negatives against him. God knows. We’ve had managers before that looked good on paper and failed and ones who looked like they could be a poor choice that succeeded.
