Sounds like a repeat of Ben Garner. Pass. How? Garner hadn’t managed before. Recommended by Pirate 😉

His win percentage record at Bayern Munich ladies and Ulm is actually pretty impressive. Bayern Munich Ladies P256 W171 D34 L51 66.8% SSV Ulm P84 W55 D19 L10 65.5% Won the 4th tier with Ulm, now they’re 3rd in the 3rd tier. Won the Women’s Bundesliga twice with Bayern Munich and got to the Semi finals of the Champions League. Would be an interesting appointment to say the least. I'd imagine even Garner would have a decent win % with BM ladies, as they probably attract all the best players in Germany, given they always seem to dominate the men's league.

Baffling how a manager recently sacked by L2 Gillingham is now the favourite for the job?

It'll be interesting to see who they eventually appoint...

There hasn’t been any suggestion of Neil Harris up to his odds getting slashed. I expect it’s a bit of naughtiness on the side of the bookies. There’s always one rogue name that shortens with no logical explanation.

Wolfsburg and Bayern have won the last 11 leagues between them. Munich 4, Wolfsburg 7. The other team has been the runner up in all of the last 10 years.

I'm with you. I think it will be Holloway. Think the owners will think it's what we all want given he's a Gas legend. He's got promotions on his CV, has even managed in the Prem. Only box he goes against really (based on their criteria) is age. But it's not like he's in his 70s, so they could argue they were talking about someone younger than, e.g. Warnock. I agree with RD. Having a manager that has managed in the lower leagues and has got two teams into the premiership that understands this club and emotionally connects with the fan base is key for me. Ollie has unfinished business with this club. He’s one of us. He manufactured a style of play that we loved. That game at stoke city when we won 4-1 was such a memory. I’m warming to Ollie getting the role. Very happy memories for me. I agree Rich. He would be a big gamble but he'd come here with a massive amount of goodwill and enthusiasm. Not overwhelmed by the other choices and this is something I think we should take a chance on. It's been something waiting to happen for years but never has. This might be the last chance we get to see how it goes. I think the Mem would go ballistic with joy when he walks back onto the pitch. As would he. It might go badly if course, in which case I'll delete this post.....

…………when he hits the ball, he scores the goal, Ollie Ollie-away
Holloway, Holloway, Ollie Ollie-away
Imagine us going to the Gate in the Championship with him in charge, brings back memories when I was coined when Beadle scored that last minute equaliser.
💙 I’m a romantic 💙

Of course it didn't end well, but the good far outweighs the bad. That first spell was a long time ago, but some things just go together, Ollie and Rovers are synonymous with each other. His infectious personality, character and motivational man management might be enough to get a tune out of the group. Certainly If he can find himself another chief scout and assistant as good as Richard Everson and Gary Penrice were the first time round then I'd be even more enthusiastic.

When you look whos available , it s littered with managers who did ok in the higher divisions , but hit the buffer with one ot two lower league
teams when you thought they might do well . Harris , crap at Gills , Ollie , crap at Grimsby , Holden , crap at Charlton , which puts you off
due to that being their last gig.
Lbh , if someone said Mark Hughes was joining us 2 years ago the place would go mad , now if you said Mark Hughes was joining us the place
would go mad for the wrong reasons.
Starting to think it may be Ainsworth btw....

If we want to progress on and off the field, this romantic appointment isn't the way we should be going really

Holden, Cotterill, Holloway, not the answer, we need to look beyond these three.
