…………when he hits the ball, he scores the goal, Ollie Ollie-away Holloway, Holloway, Ollie Ollie-away Imagine us going to the Gate in the Championship with him in charge, brings back memories when I was coined when Beadle scored that last minute equaliser. 💙 I’m a romantic 💙 Has there ever been a sweeter goal than that. I can still replay the moment in my head.

Looked at signing Eustace when he was at Stoke but certain people wrote him off due to injuries - only for him to play many more matches at a higher level.

Holden, Cotterill, Holloway, not the answer, we need to look beyond these three. Holden and Cotterill should be non starters. Ollie would be great initially but you wonder how long it would last. I'd take Ainsworth every day of the week.

Do you think the new owners aren't willing to spend the money (we have been conditioned to think this way over the past god knows how many years)? The new stand looks good and more importantly is actually being built and they've provided a good budget this season. I think they are ambitious and will back it up. Whether the knowledge to identify the right manager is another question but it is a bit of a lottery in the lower leagues.

Not sure I get the obsession with Holloway.
Managerial career 1996–2001 Bristol Rovers 2001–2006 Queens Park Rangers 2006–2007 Plymouth Argyle 2007–2008 Leicester City 2009–2012 Blackpool 2012–2013 Crystal Palace 2014–2015 Millwall 2016–2018 Queens Park Rangers 2019–2020 Grimsby Town
Hasnt managed since 2020, it didn't go well either. Other than being an ex player and loved by the fans. What are the football reasons for the appointment?

Have you not answered the question yourself ? An impressive list of clubs he has managed which includes several promotions and management in the top flight.
Compare that with someone like Joey Barton and it is quite an impressive CV.
Played at a decent level too and always gives 100 percent.
The negatives are that it did not go well at Grimsby but they were in a mess before he got there. His humour and TV image is not to everyone's taste but you can see how he would create team spirit and a good atmosphere around the training pitch.
No baggage like the last manager, Bristolian and a gets Bristol Rovers which perhaps is more important than ever now we have foreign ownership and commercial management that have less attachment to the club than when the directors were fans for life.

Since leaving Blackpool, Holloway's points per game:
Palace 1.22 Millwall 0.98 QPR 1.22 Grimsby 1.10
Still, he's "one of us" and all that.
No thanks.

Love Ollie and would like to see him involved somehow, trouble is Ollie is probably not the type to stay in the 'background'! Lenny played the roll to perfection, so good at it that i often questioned 'exactly' what we were paying him for! it became apparent when he left.

I hope they take their time over this, no point rushing it. Either keep Mangan for now or give Ollie just to the end of the season maybe.

Look at Robinson's stats, they are decent and would have been better if his last few months went downhill due to domestic issues 😜
