Think we may have had enough of managers always in the public eye for a few years. Ollie cant stay away from the media. Enough cringes already thanks but no thanks.
Ollie could never be DoF he likes the limelight too much. A DoF needs to sit quietly in the background offering advice and direction in private. Thats not Ollie is it.
I have no suggestions to put forward. Someone who can read the game well, motivate players be forward thinking and wants attractive entertaining football. They should also know what it takes to be a pkayoff team or gain promotion ideally.

With the new owner in place we seem to be on a new path, the days of one man having complete control of the structure of the football side will be gone, one thing for sure is there will be fewer scouse accents around the club this time next year. UTG

Have you not answered the question yourself ? An impressive list of clubs he has managed which includes several promotions and management in the top flight. Compare that with someone like Joey Barton and it is quite an impressive CV. Played at a decent level too and always gives 100 percent. The negatives are that it did not go well at Grimsby but they were in a mess before he got there. His humour and TV image is not to everyone's taste but you can see how he would create team spirit and a good atmosphere around the training pitch. No baggage like the last manager, Bristolian and a gets Bristol Rovers which perhaps is more important than ever now we have foreign ownership and commercial management that have less attachment to the club than when the directors were fans for life. Ollie is a pundit He wears a pundit's hat He has such a job to get it on That he has to punch it flat

Doesn’t sound like the manager role will be filled soon then . You’d of thought they would of had somebody lined up🙄

Quite the contrast in reaction to the first time Bond signed for us 😂

DoF if we decide to give Mangan / Wheelan a go? Certainly the right type for this role.

Quite the contrast in reaction to the first time Bond signed for us 😂 Yep, underwhelmed when he came in but certainly made a difference to the defence. Sorry when he left and his departure was never really explained. Delighted he is back.

I hope they take their time over this, no point rushing it. Either keep Mangan for now or give Ollie just to the end of the season maybe. Again why give Ollie the reigns just until the end of the season. Surely we aren't writing off the season beginning of November. Sacked JB too early in my opinion...time to get the right guy in for the long term.

Give John Terry ago at it, why not. Sound him out and see what comes of it. Better that a lot of the suggestions on here. Could, and will do with the ones mentioned , a lot worse. UTG.

Trying to find a person with an even worse track record of being a human being than JB is tricky, but JT pushes it pretty close. It’s a hard no from me.

Why would the owners get rid of one loose cannon just to appoint another one, Bond and Mangan seem the complete opposite to Holloway.

A bit controversial maybe but how about looking to the continent: Josef Fritzl maybe!
