The likes of Jones, Rowett, Eustace will be out of our reach. We recently almost paid a million for a player, I think our next managerial appointment may well redefine what we as fans see as in and out of our reach… whether that be spectacular or bang average is a waiting game I’m not looking forward to personally haha

I’m also afraid that as it stands we really aren’t a huge draw.

Mick McCarthy would be a very good choice. His assistant used to be Terry Connor who used to be at Rovers now coach of Grenada

I'd give it to Holloway. I'm sure he could get a tune out of the current squad.

My memory might be wrong on this, but wasn't part of the stuff that led to Darren Moore's departure at Wednesday, was the fact that he wanted a 10x pay rise now that he was a Championship manager.

Listening to Andy Mangan on Radio Bristol I think he’s worth giving a shot.

I'd give it to Holloway. I'm sure he could get a tune out of the current squad. Like most Gasheads I love Holloway but if we're looking to appoint someone who's last success at management was over 10 years ago then we're in trouble.

Kevin Maher is working miracles at Southend One of the biggest mistakes the current board made was not keeping Maher in charge instead of hiring Garner. He should have at least been given the job until the end of that season.

I know quite a few Luton fans, despite his success a lot of them didn't like him, huge ego apparently. Lots of successful people do have a huge ego. We could write out a number of successful candidates if we're going to take that approach to appointing a manager. Maybe we should bring Mark McGhee again he seemed a nice bloke... There's probably a few Luton fans who feel a bit bitter that he left them for Stoke. I'm sure the majority appreciate how hard and well he got them working as a group though. He more or less took them up from L2 to the prem. I know he only has the L2 promotion on his Cv but he left them in a very strong position both times he left them. And you cna come at me and say he failed at Southampton, Stoke etc but which of those 3 clubs do you think was the best comparison to managing Rovers? Luton obviously.

Listening to Andy Mangan on Radio Bristol I think he’s worth giving a shot. Any link to the interview or where I can find it? I always liked hearing from AM and thought he might be worth taking a chance on when Joey left (wasn’t expecting it to be yet though!). AM always struck me as the mate who is able to calm things down when things kick off. If Joey is Begbie, he’d be Renton (if you remember the mid 90s).

Don't know what he's like as a manager but Dean Holden (ex sh** head) would have managed both Hunt and Martin at City. Also would know Connor Taylor from Stoke. Any others he would have worked with? Would have just missed Whelan at Stoke I think.

What about Glenn Whelan well respected in the game Surely Mangan as manager and Whelan as assistant makes more sense? Was JB dismissed today because the board saw the next few games looked very winnable for any caretaker manager taking over?
