If we’re going for young and ambitious I’d give mark cooper a go Old and experienced Neil Warnock obviously. But this is the gas so it won’t be either, they’ll probably give it to Andy Mangan

What about Glenn Whelan well respected in the game Surely Mangan as manager and Whelan as assistant makes more sense? Was JB dismissed today because the board saw the next few games looked very winnable for any caretaker manager taking over? No!

Whoever it is let’s hope they break this ruddy merry go round this club has been going through practically it’s entire existence 🙄 Barton’s been at the club almost 3 years. Average expectancy for a manager is 2 years. DC was with us what 4 years ?

Personally, I can't see the board sacking JB just to give the job to his assistant.
That could change if performances and results improve over the next couple of weeks, but I think ultimately, Mangan will probably follow JB out the door.

It’ll be John Terry.

Wilder would be my choice , always rated him , Eustace is another good shout.
Still think Warnock would be ideal , brilliant track record of getting teams up , and at a higher level too.
I heard his age may be a problem but he's younger than Hodgeson ( just ) who isn't doing too bad in the Prem.

Nathan Jones? He’s been gone too long. Sure we approached him a while ago (around BG/PT time?) and he turned us down.

Nathan Jones would be my no1 choice but if we can’t attract him then why not try Leam Richardson, got Wigan out of this division and played a good style of football.

If Wael was still the sole hand at the helm then an ex-Chelsea name like John Terry, Frank Lampard or even Graham Potter might actually have had some legs. Although in a job with a Saudi first division club Robbie Fowler has always wanted to manage in England and might well apply again. However, if that list of managers odds is representative of the quality of candidates we can expect there’s going to be a lot of crap football played at the Mem in the coming months!

I assume JB was sacked as the new owners are disappointed with the recent performances, if Mangan can get them playing/winning I doubt they'll be too concerned he was JB's assistant. Appointing a former manager's No 2 clearly worked for Plymouth last season. Unless the new owners can unearth the next Rob Edwards the present list of potential manager's looks fairly uninspiring.

Whoever it is let’s hope they break this ruddy merry go round this club has been going through practically it’s entire existence 🙄 Certainly over the past twenty or so years. But pretty sure Bert Tann until his retirement in 72 had been the second or third longest serving manager in British football after Sir Matt B and Scott Symon at Rangers in the 50s and 60s and during this time Rovers were the epitome of stability. But I realise the point you’re making recently, last 40 years. Appoint the best candidate and keep your fingers crossed. UTG!

Mick McCarthy would be a very good choice. His assistant used to be Terry Connor who used to be at Rovers now coach of Grenada Terry Connor. The fourth ex City I’ve already heard mentioned as a possible new manager

Try and bring in Gabriel Jesus and Ruben Dias in January also. Seriously, I think expectations need to be lowered somewhat.
