Would not be surprised to see the Cowley Brothers come in … Not my first choice … Yes, although their football is very different than what we’ve been used to the Cowleys could be a good choice. Istr all their clubs spoke highly of them, their work ethic and how they galvanised and committed to their communities. May be a very good fit. Wouldn’t be surprised if the choice results in someone most may not have heard of. Not all these coaches will be like BG. Ipswich and Blackpool appointed very effective coaches few had heard of. Also perhaps Pete Wild currently at Barrow may be considered. Plays good football and has over-achieved at Barrow playing good football. As ever time will tell though it will be interesting to see what the process will be given we have no DOF or really anyone with experience of appointing a manager. I hope they seek some advice from ‘football people’. UTG!

If Wael was still the sole hand at the helm then an ex-Chelsea name like John Terry, Frank Lampard or even Graham Potter might actually have had some legs. Although in a job with a Saudi first division club Robbie Fowler has always wanted to manage in England and might well apply again. However, if that list of managers odds is representative of the quality of candidates we can expect there’s going to be a lot of crap football played at the Mem in the coming months! Graham Potter. Come on now, you can’t seriously believe that there’d be any legs in that happening??? bloke thinks we are going to get Lampard or Potter he’s obviously joking or been on the beer for hours

Given the ambition coming out of the club (I know talk is cheap), I’d be disappointed with most of the names being mentioned. We were prepared to splash the cash on JCH, we have to be ready to at least try to lure a next level manager. That’s not Karl Robinson or a Cowley brother! Something out of left field here wouldn’t surprise me…

Might be a refreshing change for him to manage players he wants in a squad he’s balanced and prove beyond any doubt he has the nous to take a team from nowhere to somewhere. He’d certainly get backing by both board and fans and that might sway him to do a job he’d actually enjoy for a while. We might just be a stepping stone in his journey back to the top flight but the longer you’re not in a role the easier it is to forget you.

You’ve either been drinking, are on a massive wind up or are delusional. This is a bloke many are touting to be the next England manager and you think he’s going to join a team that play in a ramshackle ground at the bottom end of league one to rebuild his rep? ?

Unless he’s negotiated a severance deal from Chelsea he’ll still be picking up the £100k plus per week wages during his contract. Would you give up that to take over at a low end league one team with one of the EFL’s worst stadiums?

Potter is more left field but if you don’t ask you don’t get….and you end up with Tisdale or Garner instead.

Absolutely bonkers to think that he’d even answer the phone to us!

Hopefully the new owners have ambitions and spending power. If they want to "go for it" and have the money, it could be someone like Eustace or even the clown, Lennon. If they want to consolidate, it'll be some yawnfest like Cotterill or Robinson.

Ok I admit it …I just wanted to a) divert attention from that depressing list of also ran, poor football-peddling managers that are apparently at our level and b) get the red side absolutely crapping themselves with laughter that we really thought we could get managers of that calibre!!

Dr. F, the first post on this was a response to Big Jock saying “if Wael was still the sole hand” then JT might’ve been a possible candidate and then threw in a couple of ex Chelsea bosses to make someone spit their tea out. I spun it out for a bit but genuinely like you I hope they have ambitions and vision to surprise us. Not sure Eustace is actually deserving of being considered a better prospect than Cotterill or Robinson, he’s in the same bracket as GC was for us - surprisingly over achieving whilst serving up poor fare to the fans.

Personally wouldn’t be shocked to see the owners go completely left field and hire someone we’ve never heard of. Whos the next Kieran McKenna or Neil Critchley? Not necessarily suggesting for us right now but saw an article the other day about Jack Wilshere and how well he is doing as Arsenal U18 manager. Think Arteta was singing his praises suggesting he'd be Arsenal manager one day and he had already been considered for an MLS role. Did think at the time I wonder whether a league 1 or championship team would take a gamble. Probably still a bit too soon for him in a main role and not sure he would risk it currently, but wouldn't be surprised to see someone offer him a chance.

Unfair on Eustace who did well with Kiddy as well. I’d prefer him to Cotts or Robinson but I doubt very much he’s going to come here

Considering the new owners we’re going to agree a £1m fee for JCH, I would be surprised if they go for a cheap or inexperienced option to succeed Barton.

Not exactly a proven manager...
