Ok, so it's not football but I played shinty for Edinburgh Uni in National Division 1(South) back in the day (so equivalent to the championship I guess) and was picked for Scottish Universities against Irish Unis.

Played for Hambrook in my teens, joined Old Georgians in the Gloucester county league in from 69-72 or thereabouts. Level 7 at that time in the pyramid. We finished 5th/6th in our first two years, Bristol St George were champions and the likes of FGR finished just above us. Retired when my job took me abroad age 21.

Just a bit of fun. Played for Avon Athletic from the age of 9 through to 16. Mainly a centre half but covered every position including goal at some point. Never could be arsed with men's football, partly because I was more interested in town by the time I got to the page and partly because I was a scrawny bugger an was scared of being eaten alive, kind of regret not giving it a go now! I also played for Avon Athletic in the 90s as a 4-9 year old. Played with Josh Klein-Davies for Stoke Lane as a teenager.

Avon Athletic in early 90s had loads of decent players who were on schoolboy contracts. My age group had the likes of Aaron Brown, Mark Summers, Joe Burnell, Fidell Richards, Scott Hill, plus others who were all signed up at schoolboy level when it meant something.

I was watched by a coach from Avon Athletic (Andy) at Horfield Sports Centre and he told my mum to take me along to training with Avon. I spent most of my primary school years playing for them.

I once made the dizzy heights of the Bridgwater & District Sunday League in the late 1980s, goalkeeper for Berrow Athletic. Sadly my career ended after a dozen or so games when a lump of a Bridgwater Pub Team centre-foward damaged a couple of my ribs when I dived at his feet.
I did, however, play in Europe at an annual works tournament - Germany (twice), Belgium, Netherlands, France, and Switzerland.
All great fun and plenty of drinks……

Bicester Town, Hellenic league.
Not good enough for the first team really, made appearances, but not consistent, mainly reserves.
Decided I was missing out on Rovers too much and packed up at 20 to get my first season ticket, 26 seasons now with one!
Played Sunday football for 20 years, retired about 8 years ago at 38.

I’ve played Prem amateur 5 aside in goal since I was 22 I’m 45 now and still going strong. Unfortunately I’m only 5ft 8 so never made it as an 11 a side keeper although I played for chew magna a bit and castle green in 11s Love my football I dread the day I hang up my gloves but all the time I’m still playing well and still enjoying it I’ll keep going. My biggest claim to fame was I played in a tournament with a few pros / semi pros and we won and got to the finals at the Beckham academy in London. Unfortunately we got knocked out in the semis because the final would have been great it was against Graeme Le saux legends. Le Saux , shearer , Parker a few ex England internationals.

Played up at lansdown in Bath, its pretty high up there, and bloody freezing 🥶 Snap. Also very foggy some times. In one game, standing on the edge of the penalty area (I played in goal), I could barely see the half way line. I hadn’t realised we’d scored until everyone trotted back out of the fog and we kicked off again.

A keeper in the Welsh Central League in the days before the Welsh Premier came about. Lots of semi pro teams in the league, Aberystwyth, Newtown in the mid 70s. They used to love roughing me up most weeks!!
UTG!

Had the option to play football or cricket and decided on cricket. Far better game to actually play IMO, I preferred cricketers to footballers, all the football clubs I got involved in were cliquey. All the youth teams seemed to be parents putting their kids in the team. Was involved in a local football youth side and the coach had his son (who was rubbish) playing CF. I wasn’t that good TBF and that seemed to be the only way to break into a club if you hadn’t been training there for years and knew everyone.
Played for quite a few cricket teams until I retired at 21 because I decided to concentrate on clubbing😀

Patchway Town. Been there since I was 18 (28 now), never wanted to play for anybody else, regardless of how bad we are now! Haha Patchway North End in the Bristol Suburban League (with Woody). I dreamed of playing for Patchway Town, unfortunately I had a touch like Ryan Loft. Still playing now in NZ.

Bemmy Down Juniors in the final of an under 11 tournament played on the Clanage. I remember nearly scoring a worldy, but it was 40+ years ago. Was my last game of football as I moved to a Rugby playing school.

Im ex Avon Athletic too, mid to late 90s. A lot of really good players at that club. Suprised there wasnt anyone who really made it. Apart from Danny Rose. Was really good mates with him when i was younger
