Just to put this out there. What if the club aren't as useless as some here think? What if they deliberately didn't get the planning permission for the South stand because they knew that the Greens or locals would object and it would never have gotten off the ground. By just building it and then applying for planning (which they must have been given the nod would be approved) they have saved time and a lot of headaches! What if they knew that JB wouldn't be our manager for long and were not interested in signing JCH (JB obviously was interested) so they stall, delay and make it look like a faux pas on their behalf. JB doesn't get his man and the club aren't forking out £800,000 (or whatever it was) for a striker they didn't want anyway. What if the new owners were definitely not JB fans and were looking for an excuse to get rid of him. A few bad games, name calling of opposition managers gave them the position to sack him -which they intended anyway- but couldn't do when they first took over. We are dealing with very wealthy people and you don't get that rich if you are an idiot. What if all this is just a load of bollox! Who knows!!!

Why would they wind the fans up like that ? Thinking we were going to get Jonno back and many fans were very excited ( not moi !) , then when it didn’t happen distraught. Nobody should be lumping in our new owners with past mistakes as they’ve hardly been here more than a few months . Let’s judge them on their decisions going forward.

I was surprised the club weren’t aware of the transfer deadline day extension, but that said the deal was on as Peterborough had signed replacements, after agreeing a deal with us & JCH saying his goodbyes to Posh. What we we don’t know is what happened once JCH arrived at the quarters ( I assume that was the location, re contract changes etc) ? Now if the new owners wanted JB gone, why not just sack him on day 1 ? Why “play” JCH ? What sort of message does that send out ?

''you don't get that rich if you are an idiot.''
Following recent events south of the river most of the red-persuasion countryfolk reckon they know one.

What if the club aren't as useless as some here think? ... You lost me at the first line
I don't see the need for our new owners to play any games. In retrospect, the decision to plough on with the South Stand build at risk looks like it will come off. But it is a large financial risk (both investment and income) if the planning committee and the process thereafter does not grant permission.
On JB, I don't think they needed an excuse. It feels to me like they set a do or die 1/4 season performance target and the outcome was well below par. There may be other factors. Having said that, it doesn't seem as though they communicated their target to JB and I'm always worried if it seems like a manager is sacked with no succession plan.
Failing to get JCH over the line has to be a balls up. I blame P'bro in part for their brinkmanship, but it seems like inexperience/inefficiency on our part was the main problem. Key learning from this - they were willing to part with a club record sum.
Consistent across all of these three, if we don't get experienced professional people in - staff and consultants - we are likely to make a mess of things.

What if they really wanted JB to succeed and backed him but his/our staff proved to be incompetent by not even being able to complete a deadline day signing.
If that were the case maybe they felt a root and branch change was needed with dedicated Rovers employed backroom staff were needed so that we would have more control and established experienced people running the club with a manager just running the first team.
Sort of like they said they were going to do....
If I were rich enough to own a club I would want to get my own people in, not all of one particular managers staff throughout the club. Wael was mad letting Barton (or anyone) have so much say and so many of his own people in place.
No conspiracy here at all, just sensible running of a business.

What if there are Rovers fans living in a parallel universe. Happily sat in the new South Stand, eating unsinged sausage rolls, watching JCH score for fun with Joey at the wheel of HMS Pi$$the League. Full steam ahead shipmates Europe is on the horizon.

What if Rovers are deliberately burning the sausage rolls, the resulting charcoal helping to neutralise the chronic flatulence wafting from the Thatchers end.
