In other news, Newport lost to the Hammers youth in our EFL Trophy group last night so (I think) this means we only need a draw at their place on November 14th to qualify for the knockout phase. Great news . Don't book your trains just yet though - if Whitby hold us to a draw in the FA Cup we'll likely be heading north instead of west and the Newport game will have to wait. Will fans actually go on a train to Newport for a EFL clash ?. £10 return on Trainline, absolute bargain for those who do. Could recreate the days of the Soccer Special.

West Ham coasting v Cheltenham.
We must win to qualify in second place (or draw and win on pens).

Tomorrow night, I think we need to throw a few youngsters in. If we win, great lets take it seriously in the knock outs, but we cant risk Wilson or Hunt in this game. Hall should start in goal. Gibbons, Grant and a couple of youngster in defence? Does Crama suspension include this game? Brown and Marquis leading the line.

Newport have loads of injuries and two more long term picked up Saturday. They had to have two young kids on the bench Saturday and could still not fill it. If we can’t beat them tomorrow night serious question's will need to be asked.

I were where you are coming from but I think Wilson and Hunt need more game time after their injuries - even if only 30 minutes or so. No game till Saturday week so there is recovery time.

The problem is Wilson will be the only fit centre half for the Derby game as ( Taylor injured : Crama suspended ). I would 100 % cotton wool Wilson and opt for Crama & Garner in the C/B positions. The goalie situation is also interesting with loans and call ups .

If it’s only a broken bone in his hand he should be back quite soon - I think Marquis only missed one game

Hunt Thomas Woods Vale Evans Collins Martin Wilson ?. Bogarde. With no game this weekend then we really need to make sure we put a starting 11 to win the game, not just mess about giving fringe players game time. I doubt Hall will play as that will give him fist team "experience" the club don't want him gaining.

I assume Cox may also be off so those that mean Belshaw or Ward could return, as I recall there's some odd rule loaned players could still play for their parent clubs in the Trophy? If not then I assume an Academy player will have to be reserve keeper.

What about losing to Kettering in the first round in 1988. Main game on match of the day . Gerry Francis "I knew we were in trouble when I looked at their team sheet, they had players I could not afford"

Assuming that Cox and Vale not available would expect a team of:
Hall Gibbons Cramer Grant Gordon Bogarde Finley Woods Brown Marquis Sinclair
Mason on the bench as reserve keeper, with some first teamers as back-up in case things go wrong. However if the above players cannot get an easy win over injury hit Newport then many will no longer be considered good enough for a team expecting to get into the play-offs.
