Just watched the highlights, Luke Thomas looked very good, seemed to be involved in everything Good to see him back from injury , I think he’s been our best player this season. He ran them ragged today which wasn’t a surprise considering they’re 7th tier but he’s capable of doing that to league 1 sides too. Similar to the Northampton performance today in that it was a basic 442 and when we moved the ball quickly we looked so good and fluid and when we moved it slowly we rarely had options and looked to pass it backwards and sideways. If mangan / Whelan can pick up 3 points on Tuesday I’d offer a contract until the end of the season and review it then. They’re unbeaten in 5 games including the first 3 of the season. If it isn’t broken don’t fix it. Completely agree regarding Thomas. Im not a fan of the idea of AM getting the job tho, but as I said to the old man yesterday my opinion doesn’t affect the outcome. I’ll just wait, see and support whatever comes

I see Karl Robinson is now the favourite - I’ve never been a fan of his but I wasn’t enamoured with Barton when we were first linked to him. KR has done reasonably well at this level before and might be someone who home fans can warm to but other clubs fans hate? If he does get it I hope AM can stay as Assistant and Whelo on the coaching staff.

Today was impressive, but think tells us we have a VERY capable squad more than a capable interim manager. Not taking anything from the interim team but not convinced they are best folks for the job. Unless we think more of the same a good idea! Let’s see how we do at Reading, proper test

From what our owner said in his interview last week they are looking to have a Manager and club staff directly employed. I would assume any likely cannidates will be encouraged to work with existing staff, a good thing I would suggest to avoid another total rebuild. If the likes of Monk etc are willing to do that, all good as far as I am concerned. Notice I said Monk, never been a Robinson fan myself, but if he is appointed will get my full backing.

Just a shout out to Whitby. Thought they did themselves proud, the Team ran their socks off, weren't dirty, didn't play for time or fouls, scored 2 great goals and you've got to respect any fan that travels that of distance to watch their lads.
Wish them well.

Apologies if someone else has already posted this - but there is more than a hint of offside for both our and Whitby's first goals.

A pleasing stat from yesterday - the 6 Rovers scorers wore shirt numbers 9,10,11 and 19,20,21. Sadly, not in order of scoring.

And their second goal was a thing of beauty, so much so that I had to applaud it!

Anyone there who can say how Gibbons played? Vale fans love him and it was a rare start.

Played well yesterday, but was up against part timers, who were going back to work tomorrow.... Reminds me of Prichard.

I couldn’t think of a more pointless live game than Charlton Vs Cray Valley Paper Mills, if the non league side were at home then sure, but at the Valley? This will be 5 or 6-0 surely, I guess the broadcasters went with it as there’s barely 2 miles between the clubs.
After the fact of course but theyll all be gutted that Swindon 4-7 Aldershot slipped by them.

You sense they always go for the well supported L1 clubs, that gives us a chance of Derby v Rovers being shown live as it would be the biggest tie in the next round, looking at the draw Crewe v Rovers would be odds on to be shown, with Aldershot v Stockport virtually guaranteed to be shown.
