I believe it is clear that the new owners/ Board are lacking in in-depth football knowledge.
Now that Geoff has retired from the BBC, would he be interested in a non exec/ part time/ consultant/ advisor role helping the Owners?
He has immense football knowledge, is respected throughout the game, is a great communicator and knows the media inside out.
I think he could add masses to the Board - certainly more than the Colonel ( is he still here?).
Just for clarity, not suggesting a football management or DoF role, but making use of his vast experience to assist the Owners/ Board.
