Chris Martin was the main catalyst in our goal, brilliant link up play and split them wide open.
I’m saying it, our best signing of the season so far.
189 minutes per goal, by far our most likely player to score, one more for joint top scorer.
He’s getting fitter as well game on game

Martin is twice the player as Marquis is , not as mobile and therefore probably doesn’t work as hard but has more holding up , flicking on ability and vision.
He’s also averaging better goals to minutes than Marquis has for us.
Considering he hadn’t played since May until his debut for us a few weeks ago he’s really hit the ground running , well jogging anyway .
If we do sign JCH in January then we probably wouldn’t need all three but if the budget allows it then it would give us loads of cover as they’re all in their 30s I think ?

Marquis seems more a goalscorer than maker but now seems almost as bad as Tom Nichols when it comes to converting chances to goals. I'm still not sure if he was fouled or just fluffed his late chance at Reading. |
