An unusual sequence of fixtures for Bristol Rovers at the moment. We are in a period where 7 out of our 9 fixtures are Away from home.
Between the 7th of November and Boxing Day we only have two HOME games.
The only Saturday encounter at The Memorial Stadium is on the 9th of December against The Gloucestershire Robins.
Tuesday 07/11/2023 READING * Away 1-1
Saturday 11/11/2023 CARLISLE UNITED * Away 1-0
Tuesday 14/11/2023 NEWPORT COUNTY * Away (EFL Trophy)
Saturday 25/11/2023 DERBY COUNTY * Away
Tuesday 28/11/2023 LEYTON ORIENT * Home
Saturday 02/12/2023 CREWE ALEXANDRA or DERBY COUNTY * Away (FA Cup)
Saturday 09/12/2023 CHELTENHAM TOWN * Home
Saturday 16/12/2023 BOLTON WANDERERS * Away
Saturday 23/12/2023 BLACKPOOL * Away
(Progression in the EFL Trophy means another Away game during early December. It could be 8 out of 10.)
Results in this run have been reasonable so far. However, the potential for an implosion always exists.
After the Blackpool game on the 23rd of December we will have played 9 Home games and 12 Away matches.
The postponements of Home matches against Exeter City and Fleetwood Town may mean a glut of Home games next March/April.

Perhaps it was a meat loaf (sheeeeeedhead) song before he whittled it down?

Got a feeling the Tuesday after the cup game will be the rearranged Fleetwood match. Purely because I’m on holiday that week having planned it around fixtures

He's put the Rovers score first, you can tell from the Reading fixture.

Trying to find a positive spin here, go with me...
The winter/festive period is complex for most teams anyway with the high turnover of games, so us having more away games is a pain but this time of the season impacts everyone anyway.
But even better, if we're in a playoff hunt in March/April, having a host of home games (and maybe even a completed South Stand by then lol) to roar on the lads to the end would be a big plus in our favour.

Excellent! A straightforward positive post! UTG!

Tuesday 07/11/2023 READING * Away DRAW 1-1
Saturday 11/11/2023 CARLISLE UNITED * Away WIN 1-0
Tuesday 14/11/2023 NEWPORT COUNTY * Away (BSM Trophy) WIN 1-0
Saturday 25/11/2023 DERBY COUNTY * Away LOST 2-1
Tuesday 28/11/2023 LEYTON ORIENT * Home DRAW 1-1
Tuesday 05/12/2023 CRAWLEY TOWN * Away (BSM Trophy) LOST 2-1
Saturday 09/12/2023 CHELTENHAM TOWN * Home DRAW 1-1
Tuesday 12/12/2023 CREWE ALEXANDRA * Away (FA Cup)
Saturday 16/12/2023 BOLTON WANDERERS * Away
Saturday 23/12/2023 BLACKPOOL * Away
When the thread was started a run of 7 away games out of 9 was daunting.
It has transformed into 8 out of 10 now.
(Cats jokes are anticipated at this point.)
Just consider the impact of a victory at CRAWLEY TOWN and a win at CREWE ALEXANDRA.
The consequence would be two extra tough away fixtures at PETERBOROUGH UNITED and NORWICH CITY.
Looking forward to the spell of HOME games that are coming soon.
After the Blackpool Away fixture on the 23rd December we will have 14 Home and 11 Away league matches left.
Just a reminder. Our HOME league record is W * 3, D * 5, L * 1.

After today's game not sure many people are looking forward to a spell of home games!! Our home form under JB/AM is now really irrelevant going forward.
