I was there too and remember the scrappy away goal that got us to Wembley. The most unsavoury memory of the day was the first ten minutes of the second half. The away terrace at that time was totally inadequate for a full attendance seriously boozed up. I was sober as I’d driven but a lot of over refreshed gasheads sought the toilets at the interval and realised there were so few that they’d still be queuing a significant period into the second half…so they took the decision to relieve themselves against the back wall. I presume they didn’t notice that the terrace sloped forward so that excess liquid flowed towards the front of the terrace and thus their excess bladder product seeped below their fellow gasheads feet. Most of it probably still had an alcohol by volume level that was higher than Watney’s but I fear it was still strong enough to ruin several pairs of footwear that night! We were crammed in so tight in that away end, it created a mini Kop experience....far too many for the end it bordered on near dangerous. It was probably the last time we had swaying at a football match that I was in.

Always felt Paul Miller was under appreciated. 22 goals was remarkable. He worked really hard too. Real team player

Does anyone know our allocation to Gresty Road for our FA cup match? Would be shocked if we didn’t get the same as derby, the entire side of the pitch & the one behind the goal. From memory the stand underneath where their camera is, doesn’t go back very far. So at a guess 1200/1500?

According to the football ground guide it’s 1,680 but I don’t know if that includes the extra bit that’s tacked on for bigger away followings

Almost MDT material, but I’ll go first…. I was there, great night. I càn remember the dodgy keeper chants. It may have been the the first time the shaky hand signal was added to the chant.
