Just heard the sad news he has passed away
Was a couple of gazza foot inches from the Euro 96 final. Did well with England.

That was my first memories of England as a young lad, and what memories they were... Until the Gareth Southgate miss in the Semis vs Germany! That was a welcome to supporting England moment for me! He was very charismatic Terry though, that's how I remember him anyway. He was very postive and I can imagine him making the players feel good about themselves. R.I.P Terry Venables

The Euro 96 memories were special and that 4-1 win against the Netherlands was one of the best England performances in memory. RIP Terry.

Loved how he stuck by his players when the media were getting their knickers in a twist after the “Dentist Chair” shenanigans and ignoring the media/pundits/fans who all wanted Shearer dropped before the tournament. He was an excellent manager for England, Hoddle could have been too so sad both left the job for non football reasons - what could have been eh…..
RIP El Tel.

I wonder if he ever lined up against us?
An England legend and one of the best home grown managers (he had to manage Gazza?!) in recent history.
I always liked him, a bit of a character. Rip.

RIP Terry. We played QPR twice in 1971 in the League Cup, when he would have been at QPR. Don’t know if he played.

Brilliant manager.
His England team was the best I've seen.
His tactical astuteness and ability to change tactics and sysyems in game, he made it look effortless, is what impressed me the most.
Great character as well.
RIP El Tel.
