My issues with Brown are his age and lack of track record to be honest. He’s played majority of career at lower level, then missed a chunk, and at 29 where’s the improvement or the track record to prove he can do it. He should have the consistency that youngsters don’t have. Yes he had a good spell at Exeter but we want top end L1 players and he isn’t it. He also needs physical improvement as he seems so slender, and again at 29 this won’t happen. We will get flashes of brilliance and quality but in that 10 role we need far more than he offers. He will come good.

Blows my mind at how revisionist this forum can be at times. Collins was the best (award aside, at least arguably) player in L1 last season, goals, assists, two footed, tactically flexible. He's having a poor run (and has for some time tbf) but seeing comments that he doesn't "have the brain for L1" is honestly laughable. He's had a poor season like many but he's still comfortably one of our most important players and certainly forwards.

Think record before that was about 60 games, 28 goals. Long poor run.

Long poor run may be true but to say he hasnt the brain for League 1 is laughable but there again so are the critics of players llke Cox who people ignore the number of times he cuts out trouble before it happens but is not a flash harry like Belshaw. I think the truth is most of the current squad are well good enough to play League 1 football and all they need are the confidence given by us taking our chances when they come along. JCH would have seen us in the top 6 at this stage but will believe that the owners were really going to spend that sort of cash when it happens. At the moment i see nothing from the owners that we are going to be anything other than the usual "rag bag rovers".

Yet when he does have good delivery to him from there is one if the best in the division for assists. Missed a trick on Saturday where he should have been played up top

Interestingly Yatton, I’ve realised that on BRFC matters we are almost always in agreement. Oi you two get a room 😜😜 Has the ring of a Christmas tale. “And so, in the festive season, the crazed brexiteer sat down with the remoaner, broke bread and for once announced a truce.” Usually in a Disney movie a kid will come in and say merry Christmas or summat, as an old man with a beard looks on kindly.

Not too many players that are consistently good enough for this league but we need to build a good team around those that are. For me Hunt Taylor Ward Evans Thomas Vale The other 5 starting places and 7 bench spots very much up for grabs with at least 4-5 needed from outside current squad. I don't get the love-in with Evans. Lg 2 level for me. He tries, but not enough quality. Hunt. Yes. Delivers a good cross. Taylor. Has just about found his level. Ward. Yes. Reads the game well. Thomas. Yes. Can carry the ball up the pitch. Vale. Not ours. I can see the well paid over 30s players being shipped out for younger, fitter, cheaper players. Marquis, Sinclair, etc. Although keep the battering ram Martin.

Showed so much more intent than the rest of the midfield when he came on. Feel he is becoming a complete player. Amazed anyone would call him L2 at best but everyone seems super negative right now!

I’m genuinely staggered by what some people see when they watch games. Evans is one of our most talented players. I’d say him, Taylor and Thomas will end up in the Championship (I’d always hoped that would be with us but I think we’ll be stuck in League One for a long time unfortunately). I remember one of our fans on here always said Tom Lockyer was at his level in League Two !!!
