Why are so many of them doing so well in the prem? Emery Guardiola Arteta Iraola You can possibly go back to the great Johan Cruyff to start to see why. As manager of Barcelona, he revolutionised football, coaching methods, all round professionalism etc in Catalan and Spanish football. That legacy lives on to this day (thankfully). 🇪🇸

As manager of Barcelona, he revolutionised football, coaching methods, all round professionalism etc in Catalan and Spanish football. That legacy lives on to this day (thankfully). 🇪🇸 And Cruyff was obviously hugely influenced by the great Rinus Michels and the 'Total Football' philosophy, with Michels having been influenced by two Englishmen at Ajax, Vic Buckingham and Jack Reynolds (both considered to have been pioneers of Total Football). Michels managed Barcelona 1971–1974 and 1976–1978 winning the La Liga title and a Copa del Rey, and at Ajax where he won four Eredivisie titles, three KNVB Cups, and one European Cup, plus with the Netherlands winning the 1988 Euros and finishing runner-up in the 1974 World Cup. In 1999 Michels was named coach of the century by FIFA, In 2007 he was named the greatest post-war football coach by The Times and in 2019 he was listed as the greatest coach in the history of football by France Football. His book Team Building: The Road to Success is a fascinating read and insight.

Pep’s about as successful as an “entrepreneur” who got privately educated and got £3M from Daddy “just to start me off”. I literally heard this on the radio the other day as if we were supposed to be impressed. It’s like winning lotto and buying an already successful business and calling yourself a mogul.
Pep has always had the best players and as Brian Clough knew full well, players are what matters, not tactics or anything else. That’s why the teams with money spend it on the best players.
Anyone on here with that squad could pick the team and tactics and finish at least top 6. He might as well not even turn up. So I don’t get the love in with him, he’s a spoiled brat in footballing terms
