Apparently we're not paying a fee for any signing this summer...

Apparently we're not paying a fee for any signing this summer... Hugely disappointing if true. Yes I want us to sign lower league talent, but unless all the best players are available on a free (unlikely!) they won't just hand them over to us! Looks like another season of nothing but rejects and cast-offs from other clubs. Nothing wrong with a freebie but the best players will cost you. With the unexpected income from Lambert, I'd be very disappointed if we didn't spend anything on fees.

The Lambert money is definately not going into the budget Some of it will, maybe not as a transfer fee, but to increase wage bill.

And we have "one of the bigger budgets in the Skrill Prem" what the chuff are other clubs doing, getting players to pay them to play? Big budget, big fat zero. Transfer fees are not an option..... Apparently we're not paying a fee for any signing this summer... If that's true then we will be here for a while.

Apparently we're not paying a fee for any signing this summer... what is there to be gained if we let it be known that we are prepared to pay for players? it would merely mean that everyone we are interested in would have a higher financial expectation. If the right player became avaialable at the right price then I suspect we would make an exception.

Lets hope Millwall get him as it will then weaken one of our rivals for next season (like losing Lambert weakened us)

Face it- we are not getting out of the Conference this season, or any time soon. And the UWE is dead in the water.

Like others have said (RD), I don't want to see us just spunk money on transfer fees for the sake of it, but it would be nice to show some ambition, make a statement and pull off a marquee signing. Still time for that of course, so we'll see!

Whenever we have lost a player for big money, we have never replaced them adequately accept when Agogo was replaced by Lambert

Bang on. We lost our pacey flair player in Muzzy and did not replace him. We lost our top goalscorer in Lambert and brought in ... Did we bring in anyone?! It's not about throwing the cash we got on players it's just about looking for the right player. We never did that with either.
