Can't make the Pompey game and wanted to sell my ticket through the clubs Ticket Exchange. I have used it before (last season) but am getting an error on the page - has anyone else used it this season? Thanks

I have used it before (last season) but am getting an error on the page - has anyone else used it this season? Thanks I think that for most if not all of this season if has been only seats that you have been able to put on the ticket exchange system. I have also got the feeling (not checked back) that you now get a far lower percentage of the selling price than when the scheme first started.

Think they’ve realised it was costing them too much money and have quietly dropped it.

It's a bit of a waste of time anyway as you only get a credit, not the money refunded immediately it sells?

I had a season ticket last yr , couldn’t use it on a few occasions and sold my ticket on the exchange at £17 a time I think. This season I was able to use the balance, £51 to buy tickets that I would normally of paid for anyway. So the club ‘lost’ £51 . That’s why it’s stopped imo.

So the club buy back your ticket for £17 and then sell it on for say £26 thus making £9 per ticket. They owe you your £17 but don't actually pay it to you and say that you can only redeem against club sales. How do they lose money? Its the same maths to them as if they had paid you your £17 in cash and you went down the pub with it. Equally, if you had sold the ticket for £17 yourself down the pub or even here on gas chat, the club misses out on its £9.

I don’t go to a game , the club can’t sell that ticket as they don’t know I won’t be going , otherwise in theory the game could be overcrowded. They did the exchange thingy….. I didn’t go to a game , put ticket up for sale , it sells . The club make a bit more money £17 sold for £22/3 (last seasons prices ) . They make £5/6 . But…… I’ve now got £17 sat in my account that I can use ….. a loss to the club. This season I can’t sell my ticket , so club has still got my money £17 . I can’t resell, the club is better off.

The club doesn’t lose, as the ticket you have exchanged is resold at the full price, so if the full price is say £28 & they give you a credit of £17, the club gain the difference of £11. Also the person buying the ticket attends the match, probably spending money on food, drink etc, whilst fans who can’t attend obviously spends nothing.

I haven’t got a season ticket this yr ! I was just going by what others had said a few times that it didn’t appear available.

I thought they were for recent games, perhaps the fact Pompey fans may try and purchase tickets is an issue for this match?

Can't make the Pompey game and wanted to sell my ticket through the clubs Ticket Exchange. I have used it before (last season) but am getting an error on the page - has anyone else used it this season? Thanks It worked for me. Put my Pompey season ticket seat on on Friday and I got a notification today that someone had bought it. As I mentioned on the Pompey thread it’s the first time my seat has sold in three attempts.

Best ask the club. Regardless, the refund money to a Season Ticket Holder for the resale of a ticket is a 'credit' and therefore the refund money essentially stays within the club; you can't spend it elsewhere. A Season Ticket Holder is highly unlikely to use the credit towards purchasing a match ticket for themselves for a future League match as they already have a ticket for League matches. Therefore the STH might use the credit towards purchasing a full-price ticket for friends or family.

Therefore the STH might use the credit towards purchasing a full-price ticket for friends or family. If I had sold my Pompey season ticket seat earlier I could have used the £20 to offset some of the cost of the four Blackpool away tickets I bought, because ticket transactions are handled through ticketmaster you can use it for home cup games that are not included in your season ticket as well as for tickets for away matches or those games held at a neutral venue. Imagine if your playoff final ticket was covered by the credits you received for selling two tickets to games over the festive period you could not have gone to anyway, isn’t that a win-win? I should also mention that when I purchased this season’s ticket I was offered the option to pay for part of that ticket using my existing credit balance, so the credit isn’t as redundant as it sounds. As it happens I didn’t use my credit on my season ticket because I knew it would cover the cost of the Charlton away ticket, last minute winner…credit well used!

You’re totally missing the point that I’d have £17 credit towards a future ticket . 1) you pay the club £17 when you buy the ticket. 2) The club repays you £17 when they sell the ticket. Even better for the club, its not cash its a credit. 3) The club then sells the ticket for £26. What bit is bad for the club? In fact, the club are up £9 straight away and any profit on ancillary spend by the person who has bought the ticket.
