Would hope there will be plenty of taxis knocking about if folks don't fancy the walk.

When permission was granted for the south stand there was little - if any - transport survey. Think they've kept Ashley Down as a trump card for stage 2 of the redevelopment. Stage 3 will have a cable car linking the station to the mem

That’s not the half of it mate. The new owners have done their research on British popular culture and the stadium revamp is Tower themed. We’ve got these two travel additions from Alton Towers on the way, but we’ve also procured the original bricks to rebuild the Wembley Two Towers at the Alton Road End, which means we have the sponsorship revenue to complete the job at what will now be known as the “Alton Towers Wembley End” which the residents are delighted about, and for increased week round revenue and hospitality they are building a like-for-like replica hotel on the blueprints of Fawlty Towers down behind the old away terrace. Very similar to the Hilton at The Stadium Of Light really, except with a slightly longer wait for drinks… It’s happening lads!!

I’ve been using the train from Weston to Montpelier for a while now Which is great for various watering holes on the Gloucester rd. But with Ashley down opening it will give a few more travel options

But with Ashley down opening it will give a few more travel options I was looking at catching the train on Friday night from Worle and I completely forgot about Montpelier station. Was looking at going to Abbey Wood and then getting an Uber. How long does it take to walk from there NG?

Depending mightily on how the timings link up (or not) I might give it a try from Bath. Bath Spa to TM is easy and quick but pricey (the most expensive rail in the world per Km apparently!). I’m not sure if direct trains go to Gloucester any more? Had to change at TM last time. I watch with interest. The buses are free with my pass but SO SLOW that the whole point of travelling to be able to have a drink is wasted! At least I could have a swifty at TM whilst waiting. UTG!

You can get a direct from worle either 16:17 or 17:17 and there is a service from Montpelier 22:42 gets back to worle for 23:30 change at TM’s

Super excited , as I used to take the Monorail when I worked in Darling Harbour. We should also build the Opera House on Horfield Common - Part of the Gentrification of Bristol. I mean who doesn’t like those free drinks they put out in the interval.🍺🍺🍺🍺🍷🍸🥂
