He tells Sky News the Conservatives are "planning for May". "My challenge today to Rishi Sunak is name that date." To note, for a May election to take place, Mr Sunak would need to call the election towards the end of this month or the start of April. The most likely date, if it will take place in May, is 2 May - the same day as the local elections. However, Mr Sunak previously said it is his "working assumption" that the election will take place in the second half of 2024." As someone who has never voted anything but Labour in a General Election, due to the lack of SNP option where I've lived when old enough to vote, the prospect of PM Starmer hardly makes me think we're going to be back to the good times.
Hey ho, has to better than the alternative, I suppose.

To my shame I went to Scotland for the first time last yr , Trossachs then up to Fort William with a few stops in between …loved it ! 🥰 |

Our lot are (were, only 3 of us left now) all Weegies, Yatton. Greatest city in the country.
Trossachs is a great part of the country, but if you want pure, unspoilt beauty, the far North and the Western Isles are unmatched.
Nearer to Glasgow though, Loch Lomond is always worth it, along with Glencoe and across to Stirling. 👍🏴

Trossachs is a great part of the country, but if you want pure, unspoilt beauty, the far North and the Western Isles are unmatched. Nearer to Glasgow though, Loch Lomond is always worth it, along with Glencoe and across to Stirling. 👍🏴 Not had the pleasure of Glasgow or the Western Isles, but can vouch for the rest. Beautiful part of the world. Enjoyed the Perth area too. |

Ouch! "Birmingham City Council has approved plans to hike council tax by 21% over the next two years. More than 50 councillors also voted in favour of £300m in cuts over the same period. Just a thought, Chancellors like to bring a 'rabbit out of the hat' on Budget day. With much already trailed in the press, most notably the 2p NI cut, what will it be?
Or has he spent the headroom and that is it?
If he does, maybe stamp duty, IHT, income tax or VAT.
