And the excellent David Squires cartoon in the Guardian today is about Roy Hodgson but sort of makes fun of Barton as well and refers to “tanking in Bristol”. Sorry I can’t post a link but it is worth a look.

Very interesting and Joey's 'rebrand' is something I'd noticed. For all his faults he never came across to me as one of the new loony anti government right wingers (far from it in his Corbyn-supporting days), but he seems to be lapping it all up now with relish. JB's definitely a left winger and Carol Vorderman follower, it's totally bizarre! |

'A big sack of spuds that plays in goal for a girls team" Is Joey Barton trying to make himself unemployable? I was shot down every time I tried to mention how much I hated this guy and how he was the worst possible choice of a manager for Rovers. Well, not being one to say 'I told you so..' .....however......I told you so!! The darkest days in the clubs history are over (as a football manager he was just about okay..but nothing special). I can finally boast to others that I am a Rovers fan and may try to get to some of the home games (depending on cancer treatment). I have re-started wearing my Rovers hoodie without fear of embarrassment.I also think Taylor looks like the sort of manager we should have had before ( obviously time will tell) but I live in hope that if not this season then next we will be in a play-off position. I know the Forum has had enough (for and against) of Barton but I've sat quietly back and now after his latest rant I thought I would have my say.

It's quite sad to see Joey speaking out as he has been recently. From personal experience, I think it's obvious he's struggling with his mental health right now, and is lashing out at all and sundry. I've done it, so I think I can see it. Doesn't mean it's right, or that I agree with it. Best thing for my mental health was to step away from the keyboard.. I hope someone passes the memo on to him.
Seriousness aside, this made me laugh ..

Yeah, the world doesn't need another Morgan, he has enough *personality* about him for 10. Joey seems to be trying to be some kind of footballing Piers Morgan. It's not a good look, at all. I wonder what he wife makes of it? And I wonder what his daughter will think when she grows up and looks back at her Dad basically saying "women are rubbish at everything and should stay in their lane" 🙄 |
