There's lots of reasons people may or may not have a season ticket. I do think going forward though a points system would be beneficial. A fan may not be able to afford a Season Ticket but still attend every home game, should they should have a similar priority. I mean, they'll even pay more...

I'm not sure I agree with this. A season ticket holder is demonstrating a commitment to the club, a non season ticket holder isn't demonstrating that commitment. A season ticket holder would prioritise Rovers home games, a non season ticket holder doesn't prioritise that. Otherwise, why wouldn't you have a season ticket? It doesn't make them any more of a fan but it does show more commitment to the club and that should be recognised and rewarded by the club. “Why wouldn’t you have a season ticket?” Do we really need to answer that? Come on Gasify you’re better than that. On that basis I'm a part time supporter, live in North Wales go to most of the away games up North but can only manage a couple at home😕

Can someone post a link to the thread the last time the age old debate of ‘Season Ticket v Pay On The Day: Who Is Best?’ reared it’s head?
It seems to kick off every few months and i would hate for everyone to have to go to the effort of retyping out their arguments yet again.

Or they have more money, don't work Saturday afternoon or Tuesday evening, haven't got family commitments ? I'm not disagreeing that Season Ticket holders get first go, but we're all in this together Gasheads x I chose my words carefully. Hence I used the word committed. A ST holder is demonstrates that commitment. A committed fan would not work on a Saturday, they just wouldn't accept a job that means they are working on a Saturday when kick off happens. Their family would understand that Rovers is a commitment from 14:00 to 18:00 on a Saturday afternoon. If a husband or a wife didn't accept that then staying with that husband or wife shows less commitment to Rovers. You can choose your job/wife lifestyle....

I don’t live in Bristol, in fact live about 150 miles away and get to 1 in every 2 home games and most away games. Season Ticket is not cost affective. Yes agree season ticket holders should get priority, but does not make them more of a supporter. Also based upon the above argument as I prioritise away games, maybe I should get priority for all away games. (Only joking) All I’m really saying is life is not simple. The response is that you have a choice as to where you live. You have weighed up the pros and cons of you lifestyle and have chosen to live your life as you do. Now compare that to a fan that has moved back to Bristol due to the same issues that you mention. That fan is just more committed to Rovers. They have made a life change based on Rovers.

I have been watching the Gas since 1967, and I have been in most of the biggest and smallest crowds we have ever played in front of during that time. A home game now involves a five hour round trip but I still manage about ten a season, along with four or five away games. If I ever moved back to Bristol the first thing I would do would be to buy a season ticket. Obviously season ticket holders should have first dibs on tickets. If I was a ST holder and hadn't got a Norwich ticket I'd be livid. For a long time I was in the share scheme (£130 per year in return for ticketing priority alongside ST holders) These days I'm just in the supporters club and I'll take my chances and not play the old 'but I drove to Barrow in 1979 card'

As tickets are bought online it should be possible to have a points system to include away games attended.
ST holders get their tickets as a priority for home games and points system for away games.
I think most big clubs do this?

What is your definition of a big club? I think we fell off that mantle many years ago. We were officially a tin pot club whilst at Bath and I am not convinced that we are much more now as the Stand saga and the JCH transfer seem to prove. That "gap" seems to be getting wider and wider!!

That "gap" seems to be getting wider and wider!! Don’t buy into this narrative at all. Build a new east stand with 6k seats and then get promoted ( all possible in 12-24 months) then we’re a championship side in a big city potentially playing in front of 16k crowds. That’s a pretty big club.

On Radio Bristol yesterday played historic Sam Finley interview saying he would love in the future to see us pack out the Anfield road away stand, I would imagine he ll be eating raw steak before the Norwich match. 😂 the top players have a plant based diet. Barley, hops and yeast in the lower leagues.
