So is this match defo sold out or are we expecting a release of tickets later today? Hoping for a release of tickets later once the ST holders who didn't get their tickets are sorted out. My brother lives in Manchester and is really keen to come down for the game with his son. I hope the club have some kind of financial penalty against Ticketmaster for this mess-up. Why they put tickets on general sale on Monday evening is beyond comprehension and certainly not what the club requested, since general sale was supposed to start yesterday evening. I get the feeling that all the ticketing sites are inconsistent - I remember when SeeTickets were selling playoff final tickets a few years back and completely messed that process up, now Ticketmaster can't organise an event in a brewery!

I really do think it was what the club requested! Ticketmaster getting slated here unfairly IMO. If you read the ticket announcement on Monday all tickets were put on sale - but with season tickets holders being reserved until Wednesday. There was never any intention of putting a general sale later.

This is also another reason why we need to sort out the Mem or the stadium.
Wouldn't have been such a problem if we had a bigger capacity.

Not sure who’s at fault, but I would have thought, Ticketmaster has the database of 4-5k Rovers season- ticket holders & those replay tickets should have been ring fenced & not released for general sale.

I guess there will never be enough allocation of tickets while residing at the Mem! The largest capacity we could ever hope for would be around 24000.

Maybe, but the other view is: I don't choose where I live. I don't choose my job. I don't choose my husband/wife If that is the case, then so be it. I just live in a world where those things are a choice. So, for the majority of us (ie those of us who don’t live in middle-class Victorian England), we don’t get to choose where we are born, and where we live is subject to all sorts of other factors, such as affordability of housing, availability of work, etc; furthermore, most of us don’t have arranged marriages and have no control over who we fall in love with. Finally, for most of us employment is subject to what’s available and what we are suitable/skilled/trained for. It must be so easy when you’re from Sneyd Park, Redland or Westbury Park etc and live off the trust fund Mummy & Daddy set up for you, or “work” for their business, to sneer at the “lower” classes and feel superior because you don’t have to balance your love of your club against day-to-day survival for yourself and your family. FFS I was born on the Redland/Cotham border in a 4 storey (1863) Victorian building, all my family are working class. When my Grandad came over from Ireland in the 50s with my mother a babe in arms he worked his backside off and bought it in the late 60s for cash......yes we as a family worked hard so don't ever ever ever say i/we lived off mummy and daddies earnings! That comment has p1ssed me off no end

Why were Norwich tickets made so cheap? Wasn’t it always going to be a well attended game? Seems weird charging the same price as the pizza cup matches.

Norwich charged £12 for seats, because we have seats AND terracing Rovers have split the difference with £10 and £15.

Our usual cup attendance is about 4-5K. Not sure anyone expected the demand - certainly not before the draw. But as chewie says, it will have been a reciprocal agreement and good on both teams for it

I can see there either being only about 6000 in the ground or it’ll be totally packed with thousands with tickets locked out after the balls up by the club / ticketmaster.

I chose my words carefully. Hence I used the word committed. A ST holder is demonstrates that commitment. A committed fan would not work on a Saturday, they just wouldn't accept a job that means they are working on a Saturday when kick off happens. Their family would understand that Rovers is a commitment from 14:00 to 18:00 on a Saturday afternoon. If a husband or a wife didn't accept that then staying with that husband or wife shows less commitment to Rovers. You can choose your job/wife lifestyle.... There is some merit to this. Some people plan their lives around their football club. I've come across some uber fanatics from some prem clubs who travel around Europe at the expense of their family and work. Also, lots of supporters of teams will become strangely loyal to the shirt colour. Often refusing to wear clothes or sit on seats that are the rivals colours for example is fairly commonplace. When I was at Rovers as a kid, Holloway refused to let the squad wear red bibs for training. I don't own any item of clothing that is red.

Any Championship or Premiership side at the Mem etc is always going to be more attractive than the other way around. So if Liverpool now decide to charge £20 for seats we'd have to do the same if there was a replay, even though we could charge twice as much and still be unable to deal with the demand?

Are we going to seat/terrace share places in the future when it's only 12K when the new stand eventually opens. The maximum seems likely to be 16K unless the West Stand is ever developed.

That comment has p1ssed me off no end Fair comment he used a massive assumption and not all people from those areas are privileged. However : I agree with his broader comments about accessibility. We are a divided society and many would argue its getting worst . For the lower working classes there as been little progress from all political sides. People in poorer areas are not benefiting from the so called trickle down effects and things seem to be as bad as post war. Of course you need to live in those areas to fully understand the deprivation and lack of social mobility for many. Sadly money and class is as big in our country as much as race gender and disability rights ( which I support ). It's common knowledge privileged people can choose the best schools : fast track health waiting lists and buy property for their kids . Social mobility in my opinion is at standstill and like I said all political parties are to blame . P.s I'm from high rise living in Barton Hill and attended St.George school aka City academy.

How many regular fans will now miss out as they didn't get tickets on Monday evening.
