Don’t get ahead of yourselves Gas heads - Norwich will want this fixture as much as we do. Liverpool have the fixture listed for Saturday 27/1 3pm - they play Chelsea on the following Wednesday. That will change if picked for TV. Something else for Klopp to moan about and his poor squad of 200 players Assuming there's a maximum of 4(?) games shown live in the UK, then I can't really see Liverpool v L1 side being picked? I assume international TV just shows the game whenever it's played.

Not sure if it has been mentioned but was only around two years ago that Klopp and his players signed a shirt and sent it to Nick Anderton to be used in a fundraiser.
They probably didn't know him from Adam, but it showed a lot of class, that one of the top clubs looked after a fellow pro.

So close to Mabbs pitching us against Spurs in the draw. Would have preferred that as an away draw. Ah well ,we get to play Liverpool reserves away instead. Though we wont as i suspect the Norwich team will now be much more up for the game and will field a stronger side. You never know though. All these away fixtures are making it hard work for Rovers to win the Cup. Rovers at the Mem with a number of scouse players v Norwich who've hardly turned up for Wagner lately sounds the opposite? Even there fans sound like they'd sooner we played at Anfield. It'll be typical Rovers to now lose but the tie certainly looks winnable. League is their priority and these cup games with replays are an unnecessary distraction for them. They normally get to go to these premier league grounds every other season and only a couple of years ago they had Liverpool away in two cup competitions in the same season! This is the first season for a while they are not either bottom of the premiership or in the top two of the championship, but they are still pushing for the play offs. My only concern is that if they don't get a result against Hull on Friday night, Wagner could be trying to save his job next week and may put out as stronger side as possible in a desperate attempt to avoid the sack. If we do beat them then I imagine there is a very good chance that will be his last game.

They will pick whoever plays Man Utd and Spurs v City will also be another pick. More likely West Brom v Wolves as well (if Wolves win their replay) Of course unlike last the weekend it'll still be much easier to find a way to watch with it likely to be on many channels around the world if you cant make the game.

Many Norwich fans do not really care if they lose to us.
They do not enjoy a visit to Anfield.
They have lost 16 and drawn twice in their last 18 encounters.
Meanwhile.
We are happy to lose at Anfield.

Bristol Rovers may be a small club in a large city but I still feel 9000 tickets could well be sold!

Mixed views? They are so unhappy with their club at the moment it seems they are willing us to win

The draw has created much excitement, understandably, BUT we do have a very difficult replay to win, If Norwich decide they want it badly enough and field the first team the odds will be stacked against us, (yes i know I'm a killjoy!) As others have said we will not be playing Liverpool the Premiership leaders ,but a representative 11 of that club, still a great away day for those who have not been there, probably only bettered by Spurs , The Mancs, Newcastle away. Not a great draw for Maidstone, Wrexham and co, great incentive for Eastleigh / Newport though, Gas heads may be in dream land but just think of the excitement at Eastleigh when they heard the draw!! After all not usually a place for excitement, though they did make us very welcome a few years back! As for fans supporting teams other than their home town clubs, never used to be thus back in the day, you were either Rovers or City , difficult to pinpoint when it started but i do know that Millions of Football fans world wide became Man United fans post Munich, perhaps it grew from there? Back in the day it was quite common to support both teams .. My late father regularly went to Rovers and City's home games in the 60s ... Don't know about 'support 'both teams but many folk would watch both teams , even I went to Ashton with City Supporting friends a few times and vice/ versa, the difference was at Ashton I had a passive interest in the proceedings whereas at Eastville i was passionately involved from first whistle to last.

If we do manage to beat Norwich . The gate receipts from the Liverpool game would be similar to a leauge one play off final. A crowd of close to 60000 x £30 a ticket ( it could be more or less ) will equate to nearly £ 2 million ÷ 40%.
For any lower leauge club this is serious money. Additionally nearly 100;000 fans would of watched our FA cup games. That's IF of course!.

Plus international TV money and shirts etc from the club shop we'd also get £100K + gate receipts from the Norwich tie, so Norwich is basically a £1m tie. I guess this makes it all the more frustrating previous managers showed little desire to win cup games. Looking at the ties again L1 Rovers playing in front of 60K fans at Anfield may just be attractive enough for TV if they show up to 4 games live, given that the TV co's love Klopp's Liverpool.

Lots of Liverpool fans are in our squad so they will be hell bent on finishing off Norwich at home. I bet beefy is gutted that 1st round has potentially cost him an appearance there
