Big game today that I’d argue is more important than the Norwich game . A win and we make a massive statement and go within 6 points of them.
No idea what team we’ll put out or even if the manager will be there !

From the outside it looks like we have shot ourselves in the foot a bit by diminishing our central midfield options
Ward out is a massive blow

I feel Josh could do a decent job as a holding midfielder alongside Finley, meaning Evans can play further forward.
The other option is to play Evo in the middle and have McCormick behind the front 2
Need some reinforcements for sure, long horrible trip up there and we must pray for no more knocks!
Not sure I’ve ever known a season like it in all my years following the gas where we have so many injuries!!

We travel north with the slain corpses of other promotion hopefuls draped over our handlebars. Another full week with our new leader feeding the troops with his knowledge. It is our time, we are Bristol rovers, Luke Thomas hatrick, 3-0. Playoffs do not beckon, they cower.

Very important game. A win and we close the gap on Barnsley. A loss, playoffs go further out of reach and confidence could drop for next week.
I believe these players will have Norwich in the back of their minds and I don't blame.
Win would be great! But I'll take a draw away to to a playoff side.

I presume that the gaffer is on husband/parental duty (any news on that yet?) so who’s going to be leading from the dugout, JMcA or KB as he did the presser? Will the boys give MT a double celebration?

Just the sort of game I fancy us to play well in. Not gonna be easy and could go either way. Cut out the mistakes or it’s another Blackpool instead of Bolton
Think Dan’s post team is probably right, but I’d start big John and only bring Martin on once he’s done the work of 15 Martins.

I’d start Marquis and Collins as the forwards will need to do a lot of work pressing and we will need Collins if we are likely to be playing on the break. Grant will probably keep his place having done well last week and McCormick has the energy to replace Ward.

Will the boys give MT a double celebration? I think he just wanted to be at the birth and being in Barnsley around the due date wasn’t going to be helpful! Hadn’t he relocated to the West Country? If so, I doubt he’ll be taking paternity leave, and getting to the training ground and games and then home again each day should be doable so expect him to be back in the dugout for Norwich. |
