Not strictly Gas related, but after my Sh!t supporting father passed away I found a 1966 programme when Cardiff beat them 5-1. I gave this to my sons best man at his wedding as he supports Cardiff.

A sign of the times, the sheet relates to 87/88, two years before our promotion in 89/90. Yet most of that promotion team are on the sheet. Nowadays in the age of two-year and the occasional three year contract I don’t think that would happen. I counted 12 names there were important parts of that promotion team. Nowadays most of those would have been picked off by other clubs before we got promoted. No real stars but what a true team those players were.

this program is from the year after Ppsh were elected to the football league. in their first season they won Division 4. the Rovers team that day were comprised of 10 Bristolians and one welsman (Dai Ward). another era  |
