Well, how have we pulled this one off with no recruitment or scouting network (those You tube Channels must be pretty good), no money, no ambition, poor management skills with no experience of running a football club. Did the lad just rock up and ask to sign ? Rumors of the Supporters club talking to the board as well, about toilets, tickets, PA systems and having a meet the boss night, cant be true can it, we have no communication with the club. If you have half an interest in football outside of Rovers that goes down the pyramid rather than up you'll know that this kid was hot proerpty for Gateshead last year and Grimsby were rather fortunate to have had him for 6 months. This is exactly the sort of signing MT would have had Rotherham go for and we have benefited from him being known for having to operate in the bargain basement for talent. Excellent signing. He didn't go in for him in the summer at Rotherham though when a fraction of the price. |

So £300k is the fee apparently. So what was the actual release clause? Any of the ITK'rs know? Have we actually managed to haggle and get a better deal for the club? As per my question earlier in the thread, does this make us less shambolic now we've managed to get the signing of a highly regarded, young gem with huge potential over the line? Genuine question, as rumours were the deal was nearly dead according to some. The release clause was less than 250k. No it doesn’t make us less shambolic because incompetence has cost us money. People were suggesting it would smash our record fee, Grimsby fans saying it could be X,Y,Z. This is the first I've heard of it being £250k. We've managed to get it over the line anyway. Hi Gasworkers , Grimsby fan in peace . It sounds like the deal will go through now which will be somewhat of a relief to you all I'm sure . So what sort of player is he ? I have seen every game of ours this season and as a whole you would say he has been good . He's played as the holding midfield player as the pivot of a 3 . His main strengths are tackling ,teamwork and in my mind the one that stands out is the ability to receive the ball in tight areas ; his press resistance is incredible for the lower leagues , normally when a player receives the ball into feet from the centre backs or keeper your thought is 'oh oh ' or at least is for us. But he can receive the ball with 1 or 2 men on him and pretty much NEVER lose . He's very simplistic with his passing and keeps the ball moving -- he will need to be playing in a team that works the ball from the back through otherwise will be wasted . I saw him a few times at Gateshead and he played the right of a three in midfield more box to box which is a job he also did well so it might not be nailed on he plays the more restricted role like he did with us . I think it's a good move for all parties tbh we are not going anywhere this season (hopefully not down ) with a good fee + sell on .Barring injuries I can see him playing Championship minimum in the next couple of years ,so I suppose it depends how you do whether you can keep hold of him . I have been mildly amused with the varying degrees of drama I must admit at times over the last couple of days it's seemed their maybe a nucleur explosion . I will keep reading and interested to see how Kamil does . Appears an excellent signing, only time will tell of course but looks a real prospect.

I will be complaining directly to the club out our admin. The bloke is an absolute tool, and makes us, our club look like utter penis'. It's the way of the World now. Social Media 'banter' Every club does it, City did it with the snake, I remember Shrewsbury releasing a video taking the p*ss after we all moaned about their antics. As childish as it is, it's the norm these days. It's harmless. Nah it's really poor for me. Some banter around actual football sure but signing a player? It's a business deal I really don't get what we're gloating about. |
