Didn't anyone read the comments from the Grimsby supporter earlier. He said conteh would be wasted unless we play through the back. We don't anymore since Barton got the sack. Funny how people on here seem to only read what they want to read. But if you listened to Taylor he has said the midfielders need to get more confident and need to receive the ball to feet. When Ward played, he received the ball to feet often. Under Barton it was the same. The only difference was the defence would make 5-6 passes around our box, under no pressure and then eventually go long as they got fed up 😂. I think Taylor will play to what he has. Exeter played good football at times. They destroyed Bartons team twice and finished above them playing good football. The Grimsby fan also said he did do the box to box role at Grimsby. So is it you that doesn't read everything?? Or you just pick at the parts you want,??

I see that there is a photo doing the rounds of Conteh in a gas shirt that he has signed whilst doing his pictures etc.
The date on the shirt 25/01/2024.
He was at the quarters yesterday. Apologies are accepted by first class mail or a few pints of Guinness in the bar tomorrow!

Funny how people on here seem to only read what they want to read. I read it and we may not exclusively play around the back with no intent to get it forward but we do look to start our moves from there, only going long when its not working. Very much not got the personel to receive the ball, hold onto it and get the play going. Will love to see that from the new lad. Imagine Cox will be delighted if he has an outlet for short goal kicks he can trust!

For the likes of Marshy or Keegan, I'm totally up with this over the past 24 hours or so due to a family bereavement. So I don't respect the cocky comments or being g called a Twat because I did not know !

As I said he was down at the quarters yesterday afternoon/early evening after setting off from Grimsby in the morning. Some people think I’m a trouble maker who sh** stirs bit I just pass on what I’m told!

So £300k is the fee apparently. So what was the actual release clause? Any of the ITK'rs know? Have we actually managed to haggle and get a better deal for the club? As per my question earlier in the thread, does this make us less shambolic now we've managed to get the signing of a highly regarded, young gem with huge potential over the line? Genuine question, as rumours were the deal was nearly dead according to some. After much digging (quick shufty on Fishy forum) this seems pretty solid info. Quoted from Alan Buckley His buyout clause was £275k which had to be met as a full upfront payment to be triggered. They didn't want to pay that upfront so instead have made the value more than £275k with the installments. Forest green offered £275k in instalments for him at the start of the window which town was able to reject luckily! Forest Green mind!

If it was done yesterday why haven’t the club announced it yet? We haven't got anyone left to update the website. Great signing though, which goes some way towards thinking the newish owners aren't the complete dolts they've been taken for.

Well, how have we pulled this one off with no recruitment or scouting network (those You tube Channels must be pretty good), no money, no ambition, poor management skills with no experience of running a football club. Did the lad just rock up and ask to sign ? Rumors of the Supporters club talking to the board as well, about toilets, tickets, PA systems and having a meet the boss night, cant be true can it, we have no communication with the club. Welcome Kamil. Hope you have a long and successful Gas career. If you have half an interest in football outside of Rovers that goes down the pyramid rather than up you'll know that this kid was hot proerpty for Gateshead last year and Grimsby were rather fortunate to have had him for 6 months. This is exactly the sort of signing MT would have had Rotherham go for and we have benefited from him being known for having to operate in the bargain basement for talent. Excellent signing. Agree 1981. One of my biggest gripes with us over the past few years is that we see other clubs recruiting young players who look as if they could be very good signings. We then sometimes sign players when, for want of a better expression, they are past their best and moving down the pyramid, a few years after they were at their best. Now obviously there are never any guarantees with any transfer but this is exactly the type of signing we should be making. Good luck to the young man. UTG!

(officially anyway)
