In trying circumstances I think MT has come out with credit.
1 The fallout of the Barton dismissal & the Mangan situation. 2 Not being able to sort out his back room staff, remember Captain’s Finley’ comment after an away game. 3 So many of the squad not being available to select through injuries. 4 Couple of cup matches against championship side Norwich in between a heavy league schedule. 5 Obviously in his private life, his wife was close to giving birth, which most people on here can appreciate is a nice but somewhat hectic time.
I’am sure going forward MT will prove to be a good appointment giving time & at least I can listen to after match interviews without cringing , unlike his predecessor.

MT will be the best thing to happen to the club since DC.
He's managed everything brilliantly so far and although the last 4 league games were losses there have been extenuating circumstances in terms of the run of fixtures, injuries, cup game interruption, transfer window as well as having a pregnant wife.
Only way is up.

He’s has a horrible set of selection issues. I’m not distilling this into a score. Really you can only judge a manager over at least a year. Fair enough post. I suppose the idea is to map the voyage of discovery from seminal arbitrary points in the journey. Innocent enough, but understand it's not everyone's cup of tea . Talking yesterday in real world, everyone had an opinion as 10 league matches offering top middle and bottom opponents. I wasn’t rebuking you FYI, it’s a good discussion point that’s just my take on it mate. I think if any one of us were to walk in to a place in our respective industries as manager, we would know we can only do so much in a few weeks. In my industry the standard is 2 years not 1. It might take him 3 months to work out what’s going wrong! Football is a cruel business and I’m convinced luck plays a huge role. Luck is enormous in life in general and I believe there’s tons of good managers who’ve failed never to be seen again and tons who were average and lucked out. The right players at the right time, money to spend…..just as in life, people get ill and at the same time people win the lottery! After a year we will have a better idea of who he is but success depends on far more factors than one man at the helm.

MT is Top Bloke and has a great attitude and knowledge of football it’s a shame a number of players he inherited don’t, if he’s given the budget and time he will get us thre 7/10

I won't give a score yet but am impressed so far with pretty much everything I've seen from him. I appreciated the honest comment about Collins yesterday, it showed respect to the supporters and it looks like being straight with us is what we'll get for good or bad. He deserves a lot of credit for fashioning that team together yesterday and getting them all to produce a winning performance. Hopefully we're able to bring in a couple more quality additions and if key players stay fit I'm optimistic about our future with him as manager

Agree the future looks bright.
Has managed to look at quite a few of the squad and although some others may say Byron's involvement is Rovers doing it on the cheap, we really do need to have a link to the youth set up. Did Byron have a part to play in Jed playing yesterday and Kofi on the bench v Norwich?
If we are safely in mid table with ten games to go I hope he uses the opportunity to take a look at some of the younger players.

Pretty sure a couple of players looked for byron to go and celebrate with at the end (assuming it was him in a hat I could only see from behind) including Conteh.

Seven from me. Nominated for manager of the month then suffered the usual consequence of a bad run to follow, turned it round now with a great win against a top side.

People saying he’s boring ? Well I think he speaks truthfully and intelligently , clearly understands the game, what’s needed at our club and seems a really nice genuine bloke. I don’t find that boring at all.

Struggled with injuries and an initially difficult run of games. Beat some excellent opposition, struggled against some bad opposition. Dealing with all kinds of off-field issues at the club alongside relocating with a partner giving birth. I think he's handled himself admirably.
As others have correctly said IMO: back him and I'm confident. If we don't, he'll be a safe pair of hands.

5/10 on results. But I am optimistic he’s the right man for the job and I’m impressed by his attitude and like how he’s set us up.
Injuries etc have had a huge impact, so I don’t see 5/10 as an insult. It’s just sitting on the fence frankly as that losing run damaged what was looking to be an electric second half of the season.
I would like to think MT himself would be slightly disappointed so far, given what happened since Pompey.

He gets a 7 from me.
Some very impressive results v Bolton away Portsmouth home and at Norwich away in the cup where arguably we were extremely unlucky not to win.
Bad luck with injuries and hands up there have been a few stinking performances however I like the ‘cut of his jib’ and giving him the fact that these bar conteh aren’t ‘his’ players.
