Disappointing if Gordon goes think he's a decent footballer but he was recruited with possession based football in mind under JB. Gibbons not up to standard of L1 gives the ball away far to often and not quick enough.

I have not been impressed with Gordon at all. Keeps getting caught out of position, can only kick with one foot and his first move as soon as he gets the ball is always to turn back. Offers very little.

Both need games.
But you feel like:
Gibbons needs to win a contract somewhere.
Gordon needs to show Matt Taylor what he can do in competitive games.
Gibbons- it hasn't really worked out. Feel there's a good player there. Buy perhaps more suited to back 4.
Gordon became the fall guy for defensive fragility last season. But he had a few superb games- plymouth at home. He kept stepping into midfield ala Phillip Lahm. But hasn't played near that level for a while. Needs confidence

For me, Gordon is good enough, on his day. I think against Exeter and Oxford he looked really good when he came on.

With those going, what’s they 6 or 7 gone and won’t miss any of them. It’s why I struggled with @topper comment that it’s the best squad since Holloway. Ok it might finish the best finish since him but no other manager in our history had a £4.5 million budget (relative term to years gone back) like this. DC’s squad was thread bare and Taylor, Bodin, Ellis walk into this team. Great first 13/14 players, the rest are made of up Carl Regan’s (Gibbons), Sawyers (Gordon). If we can move on Sinclair and Connolly as well it’s been a good window for wages out. Not sure as fans we'd class a good window as one where we shift half a dozen players off the wage bill and sign just the one? Surely MT's got to sign some defenders, given that Hunt, Wilson and Friend are so injury prone and we've no real idea how long Taylor and Grant are likely to be out injured, plus Connolly seems no better now than when he left us. That leaves us with two wingers as WB's, LT & Vale, along with Crama as the only defenders likely to remain match fit for the rest of the season. |

Gibbons I’m not worried about
Gordon I would keep as cover. We have very few full backs and if Vale got injured I’m pretty sure he could play LWB
Unless MT has something up his sleeve, seems a bit odd losing 2 defenders when we are already short!

If MT's signings are all as good as Conteh, then I'd say 3 signings would be enough.
RB, CB and LB.
If Collins has gone, then we'll need a replacement for him as well.
